A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS,
AND ACTING AS EX- OFFICIO BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CYPRESS
RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT, AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 6623
ESTABLISHING HOURLY PAY RANGES FOR TEMPORARY
PART -TIME AND SEASONAL POSITIONS
WHEREAS, the Personnel Rules and Regulations of the City of Cypress require
that amendments or revisions to the Position Classification Plan, revisions to class
specifications or salary adjustments for positions be approved by the City Council, and
as acting as ex- officio Board of Directors of the Cypress Recreation and Park District;
and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 6623 for Temporary Part-Time and Seasonal
Employees, effective June 16, 2017, inadvertently omitted the temporary classification
of Community Outreach Officer from the pay schedule; and
WHEREAS, the temporary Part-Time Office Assistant I /11 will be adjusted to be
consistent with the Regular Full -Time Office Assistant I /II within the City Employees'
Association effective July 14, 2017;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of
Cypress, and acting as ex- officio Board of Directors of the Cypress Recreation and
Park District, that Resolution No. 6623 be amended as indicated below:
SECTION 1. Hourly Pay Ranges
Temporary part-time and seasonal employees in the positions indicated shall be
compensated as follows:
• Attachment "A" effective June 16, 2017 thru July 13, 2017
• Attachment "B" effective July 14, 2017
SECTION 2. A temporary part-time and seasonal employee is eligible for a merit
increase within the salary range established for the position based on acceptable job
performance as approved by the Department Head and provided that the employee has
worked a minimum number of hours from the date of appointment or the date of the last
merit increase as indicated on the Attachment.
SECTION 3. A temporary part-time and seasonal employee must meet the
qualifications of a position as specified in the job specification in order to qualify for a
promotion to a position with a higher rate of pay and more responsible duties. In
addition, all promotions shall be based on acceptable job performance as approved by
the Department Head.
SECTION 4. Incumbents of temporary part-time and seasonal positions receive
no benefits except those required by State and Federal Law.
SECTION 5. The pay ranges in this Resolution shall become effective in
accordance with Attachment "A" and Attachment "B" and all resolutions and parts of
resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby rescinded.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Cypress, and acting
as ex- officio Board of Directors of the Cypress Recreation and Park District, at a regular
meeting held on the 10th day of July, 2017.
