of an examination to ensure employee possesses the skills and minimum
qualifications required for the journey position. Advancement to the
journey level position is not based on tenure in the entry level
position; prior equivalent experience may be considered.
C. Performance Evaluation Required - The department shall
complete an evaluation of the employee's performance, and advancement
to the higher position shall only be considered upon the
recommendation of the department head.
D. Personnel Forms Required - After completion of the above
process, the department shall complete a Personnel Action Form
requesting change in status from entry level to journey level, subject
to the approval of the City Manager or his designee.
E. Compensation for Upgrade - See Chapter 5, Section 5.04.
CHAPTER 5. COMPENSATION AND HOURS

or Step A of the new salary range, whichever is higher. Advancement
in the steps shall follow the normal advancement procedures.
