Resolution No. 3050148 RESOLUTION NO. 3050 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS OPPOSING THE CURRENT FEDERAL PROPOSAL TO SEQUESTER AN ADDITIONAL 15% IN HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDS FOR FISCAL YEAR 1986/87. WHEREAS, the City of Cypress, as a participant since fiscal year 1975/76 in the County of Orange Housing and Community Development Block Grant Program, is concerned with congressional community development block grant appropriations reduction of 10% and an additional 5% reduction emanating from the Gramm - Rudman Bill for fiscal year 1986/87; and, WHEREAS, an additional reduction of 15 %, as currently proposed by the Federal Government through a funding deferral or sequestration, would greatly impact the implementation of cities' Housing and Community Development Programs. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Cypress does hereby express disfavor with the Federal Government's proposal to sequester the additional 15% of Community Development Block Grant funds; and urges Congress and the Executive Branch to reconsider such action.
