Resolution No. 3083RESOLUTION NO. 3083 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS REQUESTING TEXACO, INC., TO CEASE ALL OPERATIONS AT THE TEXACO TANK FARM WHICH PRODUCE OFFENSIVE ODORS. WHEREAS, the Cypress City Council has been advised by several residents during the past several weeks that offensive odors from the Texaco Tank Farm have been disturbing to the adjacent residential areas; and WHEREAS, the presence of these odors was brought to the attention of Texaco, Inc.'s representatives, as well as representatives of the South Coast Air Quality Management District; and WHEREAS, the City Council has been previously advised that the Texaco Tank Farm is equipped with a closed system which should prevent all odors or emissions into the air; and WHEREAS, the City Council has further been advised that the current use of the Texaco Tank Farm is at a minimal level and should not be disturbing to the adjacent residential areas. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Cypress wishes to go on record in opposition to any and all operations at the Texaco Tank Farm which create offensive odors and, further, requests the cooperation of Texaco, Inc. to cease and desist all operations which in any way could create odors or air emissions that are offensive to our community.
