A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS, COUNTY OF
ORANGE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO ORDER A
STREET LIGHTING SYSTEM ON CERTAIN STREETS IN THE CITY OF CYPRESS, TO
BE INSTALLED AND MAINTAINED AND ELECTRIC CURRENT TO BE FURNISHED
FOR LIGHTING SAID SYSTEM FOR A PERIOD OF NINETEEN (19) YEARS AND
THREE (3) MONTHS BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 1962, WHICH STREET LIGHTING
SYSTEM, IS TO BE ANNEXED TO CYPRESS NO. 2 LIGHTING DISTRICT.
BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Cypress,
County of Orange, State of California, as follows:
Section 1. That the public interest and convenience require
and that it is the intention of the City Council of the City of
Cypress, County of Orange, State of California, to order the Street
Lighting System on streets within the said City, as shown on Plan
No. 1 and 2 on file in the office of the City Clerk, to be installed
and maintained and electric energy to be furnished for lighting said
street lighting system for a period of nineteen (19) years and three
(3) months, beginning October 1, 1962, which street lighting system
is to be annexed to Cypress No. 2 Lighting District.
All of the work and improvement above specified shall be done
in accordance with the specifications and plan therefor referred to
in the report of the City Engineer dated July 13, 1962, on file in
the office of the City Clerk and which is hereby referred to and by
this reference incorporated herein and made a part hereof.
Section 2. That said contemplated work and improvement, in
the opinion of the City Council is of more than local or ordinary
benefit and said City Council hereby makes the expense of said work
and improvement chargeable upon a district, which district said
Council hereby declares to be the district benefited by said work and
improvement, and to be assessed to pay the cost and expense thereof,
which said district is all of that portion of the City of Cypress as
shown on Plan 1 and 2 on file in the office of the City Clerk, on
which map the extent of said assessment district is indicated, and the
exterior boundaries thereof are described by a boundary line and to
which said map reference is hereby made for a complete and detailed
description of said district; excepting from said district any portion
of any public street contained therein. The said diagram so on file
shall govern for all details as to the extent of said assessment
district.
Section 3. Any lots or parcels of land known as public property,
as the same is defined in Division 14, Part 1, Chapter 1, Section 18014,
Streets and Highways Code, State of California, as amended, which are
included in said assessment district shall be omitted and exempt from
the assessment to be made to cover the costs and expenses of said
contemplated improvement.
Section 4. The improvement contemplated by this Resolution of
Intention shall be done under the provisions of Division 14, Part,l, of
the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, as amended
(Street Lighting Act of 1919).
Section 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
Resolution and the same shall thereupon take effect and be in force.
