RESOLUTION GIVING NOTICE OF PROPOSED ANNEXATION TO THE
CITY OF CYPRESS OF UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESCRIBED
HEREIN AND DESIGNATED AS THE "TAYLOR ANNEXATION " AND
GIVING NOTICE OF THE TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING OF
PROTESTS THERETO
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS:
1. That pursuant to the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited
territory Act of 1939, a petition signed by the owner of more than fifty
per cent (50 %) of the land in the hereinafter described territory by area
and be assessed value as shown on the last equalized assessment roll of the
County of Orange, was filed with the Council of the City of Cypress on
November 19, 1962, at the hour of 11 :00 A. M., and prior to the adontion of
this resolution, requesting annexation of the hereinafter described territory
to said City.
2. That the property which the petitioner requests be annexed to the
City of Cypress and which said City and its Council proposed to annex is
situate in the County of Orange, State of California, hereby designated as
the "Taylor Annexation" and described as follows:
Beginning at an existing angle point in the boundary line of the City
of Cypress created by the "Schipper Annexation No. 5" (City Ordinance
No. 35, certified by State May 19, 1958) said angle point being the
intersection of the North Line of the South Half (S 1/2) of the North
Half (N 1/2) of the Northwest Quarter (NW 1/4) of Section 16, Township
4 South, Range 11 West, San Bernardino Meridian, in the County of Orange,
State of California; and the West Line of the East 210.00 feet of the
Southwest Quarter (SW 1/4) of the Northeast Quarter (ME 1/4) of the
Northwest Quarter (NW 1/4) of said Section 16;
Thence leaving the existing boundary line of the City of Cypress
east 180.00 feet along said North Line to a line parallel to and distant
30.00 feet westerly, measured at right angles, from the East Line of the
Southwest Quarter (SW 1/4) of the Northeast Quarter (NE 1/4) of the
Northwest Quarter (NW 1/4) of said Section 16;
Thence south 207.43 feet along said parallel line of the South Line
of the North 207.43 feet of the Southwest Quarter (SW 1/4) of the
Northeast Quarter (NE 1/4) of the Northwest Quarter (NW 1/4) of said
Section 16, being the existing boundary line of the City of Cypress
created by said Schipper Annexation No. 5;
Thence west 180.00 feet along said South Line and existing boundary
line of the City of Cypress to the West Line of the East 210.00 feet
of the Southwest Quarter (SW 1/4) of the Northeast Quarter (NE 1/4)
of the Northwest Quarter (NW 1/4) of said Section 16, said noint being
an angle point in the existing boundary line of the City of Cypress;
Thence North 207.43 feet along said West Line and existing boundary
line of the City of Cypress to the point of beginning.
3. That the County Boundary Commission of the County of Orange did,
in session duly assembled on November 13, 1962, approve the proposed
annexation boundaries of the "Taylor Annexation" as hereinbefore described
and as submitted to said Commission by Petitioner.
4. That said proposed annexation territory is uninhabited as
defined by the statute and is contiguous to the City of Cypress and
is not a part of any other municipal corporation.

5. That proponent of said annexation has heretofore, to -wit on
November 19, 1962, filed a map of the proposed annexation area with
the Registrar of Voters of the County of Orange as required by Section 35002
of fht Government Code of the State of California.
6. That January 21, 1963, at the hour of 7 :30 o'clock P. M., in the
Council Chambers located at 9471 South Walker Street, in the City of
Cypress, County of Orange, California, is hereby fixed as the time and
place when and where any person owning real property within the uninhabited
territory above described and proposed to be annexed to the City of Cypress
and having anv objections to the annexation may appear before the Council
of the City of Cypress and show cause why such uninhabited territory
should not be so annexed to the City of Cypress. The protest must be in
writing, ma- be filed at any time before the hour set for hearing objections
to the proposed annexation and shall state the name or names of the owner or
owners of property affected and the description and area of such property
in general terms.
7. The City Clerk of the City of Cypress is authorized and
directed to cause copy of this Resolution to be published or posted as
required by Section 35311 of the Government Code of the State of California,
said publication or posting to be completed at least twenty (20) days
prior to the date set for the hearing.
8. In the event there is upon the land proposed to be annexed to said
City a structural improvement owned, being acquired or leased by a County
Fire Protection District, the City Clerk is directed to cause written
notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to the governing body of
such District, such notice to be sent not less than ten (10) days before
the first public hearing upon such proposed annexation.
9. That the City Clerk of the City of Cypress shall not less than
twenty (20) days before the first public hearing on the proposed annexation,
cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to each person
to whom land within the territory proposed to be annexed is assessed in the
last equalized County assessment roll available on the date the proceedings
were initiated at the address on said assessment roll, or as known to said
Clerk, and to any person who has filed his name and address and the
description of the lands in which he has any interest, either legal or
equitable, with said Clerk, all as provided in Section 35311 of the
Government Code of the State of California.
10. That in the event land within the territory proposed to be annexed
is owned by the County of Orange, the said Clerk shall not less than twenty
(20) days before the first public hearing on the proposed annexation cause
written notice of such proposed annexation to he mailed to the Board of
Supervisors of Orange County.
11. The City Clerk is directed to cause written notice to be given to
such other persons as may be legally entitled thereto in the manner required
by law.
12. The City Clerk is directed to transmit copies of this Resolution
to the governing Board of each school district which, in part or in whole,
is included in the above described territory and which has made written
request therefor, if any.
13. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
