A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS, COUNTY OF ORANGE,
STATE OF CALIFORNIA, APPOINTING A TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING PROTESTS IN
RELATION TO THE PROPOSED IMPROVEMENT AND STREET LIGHTING DISTRICT ANNEXATION
REFERRED TO IN RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 496 AND DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK
OF SAID CITY OF CYPRESS, CALIFORNIA TO GIVE NOTICE OF SAID HEARING.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Cypress, County of Orange,
State of California, did in Resolution No. 480 of said Council, adopted
June 8, 1964, pursuant to the provisions of Division 14, Part 1, Streets
and Highways Code, State of California, as amended, hereinafter referred to
as the "Street Lighting Act of 1919', require the City Engineer of said
City to make and file with the City Clerk of said City a written report
presenting certain matters relating to a proposed installation and
maintenance of a Street Lighting System, which system is to be annexed to
Cypress No. 2 Lighting District; and,
WHEREAS, theCity Engineer, pursuant to the requirements of said
City Council expressed in Resolution No. 480 and of said Street Lighting Act
of 1919, did make and file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of
Cypress, California, his written report relating to the proposed installa-
tion of a Street Lighting Sysoem, which system is to be annexed to Cypress
No. 2 Lighting District; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the said City has proceeded to
carefully examine, inspect and consider said report, and has afforded all
persons interested an opportunity to be heard with reference thereto and
is satisfied with said report and with each and all the various items
thereof and the matters therein set forth; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of said City did in Resolution No. 495
approve said report on the 13th day of July, 1964, in conformity with
the provisions of the Street Lighting Act of 1919; and,
WHEREAS, after the approval of said report, and in conformity with
the provision of said Lighting Act of 1919, said City Council did duly
and regularly, adopt it as Resolution of Intention No. 496, entitled,
"A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS, COUNTY OF
ORANGE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO ORDER A STREET
LIGHTING SYSTEM ON CERTAIN STREETS IN THE CITY OF CYPRESS, TO BE INSTALLED
AND MAINTAINED AND ELECTRIC CURRENT TO BE FURNISHED FOR LIGHTING SAID
SYSTEM FOR A PERIOD OF SEVENTEEN (17) YEARS AND BEGINNING JANUARY 1, 1965,
WHICH STREET LIGHTING SYSTEM IS TO BE ANNEXED TO CYPRESS NO. 2 LIGHTING
DISTRICT ": and,
WHEREAS, it now becomes the duty of this Council to appoint a time
or place for hearing protests in relation to the proposed improvement
referred to in said Resolution of Intention No. 496 and to direct the
giving of notice of said hearing;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, ORDERED AND DETERMINED by
the Mayor and the City Council of the City of Cypress, County of Orange,
State of California, as follows:
Section 1. That the 10th day of August, 1964, at the hour of 7 :30 P. M.,
of said day, be, and the same is, hereby appointed as the time, and 9471 South
Walker Street, in the City of Cypress, California, is hereby appointed as the
place for hearing proposed improvement.
Section 2. That the City Clerk of said City of Cypress is hereby
authorized, designated and directed to give notice of said hearing in
time, form and manner as required by the Street Lighting Act of 1919.
Section 3. The City Council of the City of Cypress hereby declares
that there is no daily or weekly newspaper published and circulated in
the City of Cypress. The City Clerk of the City of Cypress is hereby directed
to publish notice of said hearing for four days in three public places
in the City of Cypress, pursuant to Section 18013 of the Street Lighting
Act of 1919.
Section 4. That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this Resolution and the same shall thereupon take effect and be in force.
APPROVED, PASSED AND ADOPTED this 13th day of July, 1964, by the
following called vote:
