Resolution No. 628RESOLUTION NO. 628 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS COMMENDING FRED SMITH AND CHRISTOPHER HOYT FOR WINNING THE NATIONAL FINALS OF THE CHRYSLER CORPORATION TROUBLE SH0O0TING CONTEST WHEREAS, local boys Fred Smith, Age 17, 8271 Carob Street, Cypress, and Christopher Hoyt, Age 18, 3321 Cortese Drive, Rossmoor, were one of the 70 teams competing for two $1,500.00 scholarships in the Chrysler Corporation - Plymouth Division Trouble Shooting Contest in Detroit, Michigan, and WHEREAS, these local boys won the national finals at the Chrysler Corporation Contest by finding and fixing ten malfunctions hidden in an automobile in 47 minutes, and WHEREAS, by winning this National recognition, these local students brought honor and distinction to the City of Cypress and surrounding areas. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Cypress to commend Fred Smith and Christopher Hoyt for their achievement in winning the Chrysler Corporation National Trouble Shooting Contest. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Cypress, at a regular meeting held on the 13th day of September, 1965.
