A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS
COMMENDING WILLIAM ROBERT REYNOLDS FOR HIS ACTIONS
IN ASSISTING A POLICE OFFICER IN DISTRESS.
WHEREAS, on May 2, 1984, at approximately 5:20 p.m.,
while driving westbound on Katella Avenue, Mr. William Robert
Reynolds observed a Cypress Police Officer wrestling with a
male suspect in the dirt area adjacent to International Way in
the City of Cypress; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Reynolds, without regard for his own safety,
drove to the Officer's location; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Reynolds courageously assisted the Officer,
and with the assistance of additional officers, were able to
subdue and restrain the subject.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Cypress City
Council hereby commends MR. WILLIAM ROBERT REYNOLDS for his
Samaritan efforts which helped keep the Officer from
sustaining further injuries.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Cypress at a regular meeting held on the 29th day of May 1984.
