A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS
ENDORSING THE ACTION OF THE COUNTY OF ORANGE FOR THE
USE OF DIVISION OF HIGHWAYS COMPUTER PROCESSING FACILITIES
WHEREAS, the Northern Orange County Transportation Committee including
among its participating members the Cities of Anaheim, Brea, Buena Park,
Cypress, Fullerton, La Habra, La Palma, Orange, Hacentia, and the County
of Orange, feel it to be in the public interest to conduct a complete traffic
study of the north County Master Plan of Arterial Highways and related
systems to determine their adequacy in the light of long range circulation
requirements; and
WHEREAS, the first step toward this end has been completed in the
preparation of an ultimate land use plan representing the result of the
combined efforts of the participating agencies, and
WHEREAS, the Committee has reviewed the methods available for converting
this information into long range circulation requirements, and
WHEREAS, the Committee has determined that the most satisfactory method
would be one making use of the high speed electronic computer processes
available through the California Division of Highways, and
WHEREAS, the Division of Highways is willing to provide the necessary
s'rvice in the best interests of community planning, and
WHEREAS, the work by the Division of Highways will be performed at no
cost to the Cities; and
WHEREAS, the County of Orange is willing to enter into an agreement with
the Division of Highways in order to make this service available for the
purpose of this traffic study.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Cypress concurs in the
intent and purpose of this study and endorses the action of the County of
Orange to enter into an agreement with the Division of Highways in order to
make the electronic computer processes of the Division of Highways available
for this purpose.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Cypress, at a
regular meeting held on the 26th day of September, 1966.
