Resolution No. 854RESOLUTION NO. 854 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS APPLYING VARIOUS PROVISIONS OF THE VEHICLE CODE OF CALIFORNIA TO CERTAIN PRIVATELY OWNED AND MAINTAINED ROADS. WHEREAS, a petition requesting the City of Cypress to adopt a resolution finding and declaring that certain privately owned and maintained roads within Midwood Manor described in such petition and on the attached Exhibit "A", within the City of Cypress, are not generally held open for use of the public for purposes of vehicular travel, but by reason of their proximity to or connection with highways, the interests of any residents residing along such roads and the motoring public will best be served by application of provisions of Section 22350, and Chapter 12, (commencing with Section 23100), of Division 11 of the Vehicle Code of California to such roads, by a majority of the owners of the such privately owned and maintained roads was submited to the City Clerk of the City of Cypreys on March 11, 1968; and WHEREAS, a public hearing thereon was held by the City Council on March 25, 1968, upon 10 days' prior written notice to all owners of such roads, pursuant to the provisions of Section 21107.7 of the Vehicle Code of California. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Cypress HEREBY DOES DECLARE, FIND AND RESOLVE that the privately owned and maintained roads, described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and incorporated herein by this reference, within the City of Cypress, are not generally held open for use of the public for purposes of vehicular travel, but by reason of their proximity to or connection with highways, the interests of any residents residing along such roads and the motoring public will best be served by application of provisions of Section 22350, and Chapter 12, (commencing with Section 23100), of Division 11 of the Vehicle Code shall apply to such roads, provided appropriate signs are erected at the entrances to such roads, of such size, shape and color as to be readily legible during daylight hours from a distance of 100 feet to the effect that the road is subject to such provisions of the Vehicle Code of California. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Counci of the City of Cypress, at a regular meeting held on the 25th day of March, 1968.
