RESOLUTION NO. 2929
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS
SUPPORTING THE PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM BETWEEN SCHOOLS
AND OTHER SEGMENTS OF THE COMMUNITY.
WHEREAS, the Cypress Partnership Program is a unique people to people
relationship between a public school, its students, and a chosen partner
from the community; and
WHEREAS, the community partner may be local business, industry, service
club or governmental agency; and
WHEREAS, the major emphasis of the Partnership Program is placed upon
the mutual sharing of people, resources, ideas, support, and caring; and
WHEREAS, the sharing of these resources is for the specific purpose of
creating a climate between local schools and its students with other
community entities into a close, mutually rewarding relationship; and
WHEREAS, as these partnership relationships grow, so will the depth of
involvement and communication grow in direct proportion to the interest,
cooperation, planning, and care exhibited by all the participants.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Cypress City Council officially
recognizes the "Partnership Program" which has been approved and formally
introduced with the first partnership ceremony held on April 19, 1985
between Dickerson School of the Cypress School District and Hobby and Model
Shop owned by Teresa Pang; and
FURTHER, BE IT RESOLVED that the Cypress City Council is proud to
enthusiastically support this "Partnership Program" and looks forward to the
program being implemented city-wide and, further, commends TERESA PANG and
DICKERSON SCHOOL and its Principal, LARRY SPAULDING, for their beginning
effort in starting the Partnership Program in the community of Cypress.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Cypress at a
regular meeting held on the 13th day of May 1985.
