A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS
RELATING TO THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A FEE SCHEDULE TO BE
USED WITH THE LATEST EDITION OF THE NATIONAL ELECTRIC CODE

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Cypress has adopted Ordinances
requiring various building, plumbing, electrical, swimming pool, and grading
permits; and
WHEREAS, said Ordinances require that fees for such permits shall be set
by Resolution of the City Council; and
WHEREAS, the City is authorized to impose fees for electrical permits which do
not exceed the cost of issuance and inspection services; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to update the fees required for electric permits.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Cypress
they do find and declare as follows:
Section 1: That the Schedule of fees referred to in Section 8-14 of Ordinance
571, adopted by the City Council on June 28th, 1976, shall be established for the
issuance of electrical permits as follows:
ELECTRICAL PERMIT FEE SCHEDULE
Minimum permit fee $10.00
Service meter 0-600V, not over 200A 5.00
Service meter 0-600V, over 200 A 7.00
Panel. board 2.00
Fixtures:
Outlets, (receptacles, switches, lights) 1 to 20, each .40
Additional, each .25
Lighting fixtures, each .25
Mercury vapor fixture on pole 3.00
Lighting pole or standard 3.00
Temporary, Permanent, or Construction poles:
For temporary or permanent or construction poles 7.00

Note: For the inspection of the installation of any motor
generator set, the same fee shall be charged as provided
for the motor of the same horsepower, but no charge shall
be made for the generator installation when in connection
with any such motor generator set.
Heaters and Heating Appliances:
For each air heater including 1650 W 2.00
For each air heater over 1650 W 3.00
For each radiant heater (1000 W or portion thereof) 3.00
For each hair dryer 3.00
For each infra -red drying unit not over 15,000 W 3.00

Signs and High Potential Gas Tube Lighting:

Inspection for which no fee is herein prescribed:

Additional inspection fee (in excess of one correction inspection) 10.00
Plan Check Fees:
Whenever electrical plans are required by the Building Official, plan
check fee shal]be a minimum of 50% of the electrical permit fee and
shallnot exceed $15.00 per hour. This fee shall be paid at the time
of submitting plans.
Special Inspections:
Whenever electrical inspections are required for existing buildings
or for which no fee is herein prescribed, a permit fee not to exceed
$15.00 per hour will be charged - with a minimum of 15.00
New Residential Construction:
For single or multi -family occupancy (including garages and carports
on the same service) fees for the lights, switches and receptacles
shall be .015c per square foot.
Swim Pool and/or Spa:
Includes switches, lights, ground fault interruptors, motors, under-
ground, etc. 15.00
Air Conditioners:
Including shutoff switches 5.00
Section 2: The fees as set forth in this Resolution shall be
effective immediately upon adoption of this Resolution.
The City Council finds and determines that the fees as set forth in the
foregoing schedule do not exceed the estimated reasonable cost to the City of
providing such services.
This Resolution supersedes all previous Resolutions which established any
electrical permit fees in conflict with those set forth herein.

PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Cypress, at a
regular meeting held on the 22nd day of July 1985.
