Resolution No. 2519"5:115
RESOLUTION NO. 2519
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS
DECLARING THAT PROCEEDINGS HAVE BEEN INITIATED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS TO ANNEX TO SUCH
CITY CERTAIN INHABITED TERRITORY DESCRIBED THEREIN AND
DESIGNATED AS "ANNEXATION NO. 82-1",SETTING FORTH ITS
REASONS FOR SUCH ANNEXATION AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE
TIME AND PLACE THE CITY COUNCIL WILL HEAR WRITTEN
PROTESTS AGAINST SUCH ANNEXATION.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Cypress by Resolution No. 2492
and application filed with the Local Agency Formation Commission on April 6,
1982 commenced preliminary proceedings for annexation.
WHEREAS, the Local Agency Formation Commission designated the territory
proposed to be annexed as ANNEXATION NO. 82-1 (Crescent and Walker) to the
City of Cypress.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED as follows:
1. The exterior boundaries of the territory proposed for annexation
are generally Crescent Avenue on the north, the western most line of
Arnold/Cypress Park to the west, Los Altos Drive to the east and the Cypress
City Limits to the south.
2. The territory proposed to be annexed is inhabited as determined by
the Local Agency Formation Commission.
3. The reasons for annexation as set forth in the proposal are: The
area has been designated as within Cypress' sphere of influence as stated
in Resolution No. 76-64 of the Local Agency Formation Commission.
Geographically, annexation would create logical boundaries. Services would
be in close proximity to residents served.
Cypress is presently providing Parks and Recreation services to the
proposed area. The Cypress School District presently serves the area.
Residents have been using a City of Cypress postal designation and zip code
for many years. Annexation by a city other than Cypress would create a
disruption of present services and an identity disruption and readjustment
to those residing in the area.
4. The Local Agency Formation Commission has set forth the following
terms and conditions:
Section 1. Subject to the terms and conditions hereinafter specified,
said proposal is approved.
Section 2. The boundaries of the territory proposed to be annexed to
the City of Cypress are specifically described in the
legal description attached hereto and by this reference
made a part hereof. Said territory is found to be
inhabited and is assigned the following short -form
designation: ANNEXATION NO. 82-1 (Crescent and Walker)
to the City of Cypress.
Section 3. The City of Cypress is designated as the conducting

directed to initiate annexation proceedings in
compliance with this Resolution.

where duplication of services will exist following
annexation, prior to the recordation of the certificate
of completion.
Section 5. Any election called upon the question of confirming an
order for annexation shall be called, held and
conducted upon such annexation only within the territory
ordered to be annexed.
