A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS
FINDING THAT CERTAIN PREMISES WITHIN THE CITY OF CYPRESS
MAY BE MAINTAINED IN SUCH A WAY AS TO CONSTITUTE A
NUISANCE AND DECLARING ITS INTENT TO CONDUCT A PUBLIC
HEARING TO ASCERTAIN WHETHER THE SAME CONSTITUTES A
PUBLIC NUISANCE, TIIE ABATEMENT OF WHICH IS APPROPRIATE
UNDER TFjE PROVISIONS OF ARTICLE III OF CHAPTER 13 OF
THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE,
ORDER AND FIND AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Report and Recommendation.

On June 13, 1983, the City Council of the City of Cypress received a
report and recommendation of the Planning Director finding that certain
premises within the City may be maintained in such a way as to constitute
a public nuisance as defined in Sections 13-14 of the Municipal Code of
the City of Cypress.
SECTION 2. Description of Premises.
Such premises involved are generally located at 11457 Madeira Street,
in the City of Cypress, and described in Assessor Parcel No. 224-114-12.
SECTION 3. Description of Conditions.

Conditions which may constitute such a nuisance are described as follows:
Overgrown noxious weeds and vegetation in front and rear yards, scattered
trash and debris in the front and rear yards of the property. No landscaping
or automatic sprinkling system. Broken window in front of house. These
conditions have recurred for more than a year.
SECTION 4. Recommended Abatement.
A. Replace broken window;
B. Award contract for removal of noxious weeds and vegetation
in front and rear yards and removal of trash and debris;
C. Award contract to install lawn and landscaping;
D. Award contract for installation of automatic sprinkling
system;
E. Award yearly contract for landscape maintenance.
SECTION 5. Nuisance.
The City Council of the City of Cypress HEREBY FINDS, based upon such
report and recommendation, that such premises may be maintained in such a
way as to constitute a nuisance as defined in Sections 13-14 of the
Municipal Code of the City of Cypress.
SECTION 6. Hearing.
The City Council of the City of Cypress declares its intent to conduct
a public hearing on the 27th day of June 1983, in the City Council Chambers
located in the Civic Center of the City of Cypress, 5275 Orange Avenue,
Cypress, California, at the hour of 7:30 p.m., to ascertain whether the
same constitutes such a nuisance, the abatement of which is appropriate
under the provisions of Article III of Chapter 13 of the Municipal Code
of the City of Cypress. At such hearing, the City Council will hear and
consider all relevant evidence, objections or protests and receive testi-
mony from owners, witnesses, City personnel and interested persons relative
to such alleged nuisance.

SECTION 7. Notice.
Within thirty (30) days after the passage of this Resolution by the
City Council of the City of Cypress, the City Clerk is directed to cause
to be served upon the owner of such premises a certified copy of this
Resolution and a notice of the time and place of hearing before the City
Council. Such service shall be made by registered or certified mail,
addressed to the owner at the last known address of such owner.
The City Clerk is also directed to cause to be conspicuously posted
on such premises a certified copy of this Resolution, and a notice of the
time and place of hearing before the City Council at least ten (10) days
before the time fixed for hearing.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Cypress at a
regular meeting held on the 13th day of June 1983.
