A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS
FINDING THAT CERTAIN PREMISES WITHIN THE CITY OF CYPRESS
MAY BE MAINTAINED IN SUCH A WAY AS TO CONSTITUTE A
NUISANCE AND DECLARING ITS INTENT TO CONDUCT A PUBLIC
HEARING TO ASCERTAIN WHETHER THE SAME CONSTITUTES A

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE,
ORDER AND FIND AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Report and Recommendation.
On August 22, 1983, the City Council of the City of Cypress made a
finding that certain premises within the City may be maintained in such a way
as to constitute a public nuisance as defined in Sections 13-14 of the Municipal
Code of the City of Cypress.
SECTION 2. Description of Premises.
Such premises involved are generally located at 5001 Ball Road, in the
City of Cypress, and described as Assessor Parcel No. 244-405-10.
SECTION 3. Description of Conditions.
Conditions which may constitute such a nuisance are described as follows:
A large 8' x 8' x 35' metal storage container has been placed on the east side
of the Union 76 Station structure at 5001 Ball Road. Said container is unsightly
in that it does not match the architecture of the Union 76 Station nor the
surrounding shopping center. The container also is situated in such a way
as to provide a unsightly outdoor storage area between it and the permanent
station structure which contains at times, barrels, an automobile and various
automotive parts and equipment. In addition, the structure has no foundation,
has damaged the asphalt and has no building permits.
SECTION 4. Recommended Abatement.
A. Removal of the 8' x 8' x 35' metal storage container.
B. Replace damaged asphalt.
SECTION 5. Nuisance.
The City Council of the City of Cypress hereby finds, based upon such
report and recommendation, that such premises may be maintained in such a
way as to constitute a nuisance as defined in Sections 13-14 of the Municipal
Code of the City of Cypress.

such a nuisance, the abatement of which is appropriate under the provisions of

such hearing, the City Council will hear and consider all relevant evidence,
objections or protests and receive testimony from owners, witnesses, City
personnel and interested persons relative to such alleged nuisance.
