RESOLUTION NO. 1708
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CYPRESS AND THE EX OFFICIO BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE CYPRESS RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT
ASCERTAINING THE GENERAL PREVAILING RATE OF WAGES.
WHEREAS, in connection with the awarding of public
works contracts, this City Council is required by Labor Code
Section 1770 to determine the general prevailing rate of
per diem wages for work performed by the various crafts, and
classifications or types of workmen needed to execute such
contracts; and
WHEREAS, in determining such rates, this City Council
has ascertained and considered the applicable wage rates estab-
lished by collective bargaining agreements and such rates as
may have been predetermined for federal public works within the
locality and in the nearest labor market,
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Cypress
hereby does find, determine, order and resolve as follows:
SECTION 1. The rates of prevailing wages for the
various crafts and classifications or types of workmen necessary
to execute public works contracts within the City of Cypress
are those rates established by the respective collective bar-
gaining agreements applicable to said crafts and classifications
or types of workmen; and the same are hereby adopted by reference
in accordance with the provisions of Labor Code Section 1773, as
follows:
ASBESTOS WORKERS: Collective bargaining agreement between the
Associated Insulation Contractors of the Western States, Southern
California Chapter, and Asbestos Workers, Local No. 5.
BOILERMAKER CLASSIFICATIONS: Collective bargaining agreement
between contractors engaged in field construction work and the
Boilermakers.
CARPENTER CLASSIFICATIONS: Collective bargaining agreement
between the Associated General Contractors of California, Inc.,
the Engineering and Grading Contractors Association, Inc., the
Building Industry Association of California, Inc., the Under-
ground Engineering Contractors Association, and Southern Calif-
ornia District Councils and local unions of the Carpenters.
CEMENT MASON CLASSIFICATIONS: Collective bargaining agreement
between the Associated General Contractors of California, Inc.,
the Engineering and Grading Contractors Association, Inc., the
Building Industry Association of California, Inc., the Under-
ground Engineering Contractors Association, and Cement Masons
local unions.
IRON WORKERS CLASSIFICATIONS: Collective bargaining agreement
between California Iron Worker Employers Council and the
District Council of Iron Workers.

LABORER CLASSIFICATIONS: Collective bargaining agreement
between the Associated General Contractors of California, Inc.,
the Building Industry Association of California, Inc., the
Engineering and Grading Contractors Association, Inc., the
Underground Engineering Contractors Association, and the
Southern California District Council of Laborers.
OPERATING ENGINEER CLASSIFICATIONS: Collective bargaining
agreement between the Associated General Contractors of
California, Inc., Engineering and Grading Contractors Associa-
tion, Inc., and the Building Industry Association of California,
Inc., the Underground Engineering Contractor Association, and
Operating Engineers, Local 12.
TEANSTEP. CLASSIFICATIONS: Collective bargaining agreements
between the Associated General Contractors of California, Inc.,
Building Industry Association of California, Inc., Engineering
and Grading Contractors Association, Inc., the Underground
Engineering Contractors Association, and the Joint Council of
Teamsters No. 42 and Teamsters Local Union No. 87.
DREDGER CLASSIFICATIONS: Collective bargaining agreement
between Dredging Contractors Association of California, and
Operating Engineers, Local 12.
LAPORERS-GUNITE CLASSIFICATIONS: Collective bargaining agree-
ment between the Gunite Contractor Association, and Laborers,
Gunite Local 345.
LABORERS -TUNNEL CLASSIFICATIONS: Collective bargaining agree-
ment between the Associated General Contractors of California,
Inc., the Underground Engineering Contractors Association,
Inc., and Southern California District Council of Laborers,
anc its affiliated local unions.
PILE DRIVER CLASSIFICATIONS: Collective bargaining agreement
between the Associated General Contractors of California, Inc.,
the Engineering and Grading Contractors Association, Inc.,
the Building Industry Association of California, Inc., the
Underground Engineering Contractors Association, and Southern
California District Councils and local unions of the Carpenters.
FENCE CONSTRUCTOR CLASSIFICATIONS: Collective bargaining
agreement between Fence Contractors Association cf California,
and the Southern California District Ccuncil of Laborers, and
its affiliated local unions.
HOUSEMOVER CLASSIFICATIONS: Collective bargaining agreer:ent
between the Associated General Contractors of California, Inc.,
and the Southern California District Council of Laborers,
Lccal 923.
DPYTRLL INSTALLERS: Collective bargaining agreement between
the California Drywall Contractors' Association and the Cali-
fornia State Council of Carpenters and its affiliated local
unions.

ELEVATOR CONSTRUCTORS: Collective bargaining agreement between
the National Elevator Manufacturing Industry, Inc., and the
International Union of Elevator Constructors, Local No. 18.
STEEL, TANK AND MACHINERY ERECTION CLASSIFICATIONS (OPERATING
ENGINEERS): Collective bargaining agreement between steel,
tank, and machinery erection employers and Operating Engineers,
Local 12.
PARKING AND HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT: Collective bargaining agree-
ment between the Parking and Highway Improvement Contractors'
Association, Inc., and Painters Automotive, Marine, Production
Finishers Equipment, Maintenance and Public Service Local
Nc. 1798.
ROCK PRODUCTS AND READY MIX CONCRETE EMPLOYERS OF SOUTHERN
CALIFORNIA INTERNATIONAL UNION OF OPERATING ENGINEERS: Local
Nc. 12, A.F.L.-C.I.O. September. 1, 1974 -- August 31, 1977.
In addition to the aforesaid rates, the following
rates are determined and established as the general prevailing
rates of per diem wages for the respective crafts, classifica-
tions, and types cf work set forth hereinbelow:

SECTION 2. The City Clerk hereby is authorized and
directed to file a certified copy of this Resolution with
the Director of Industrial Relations of the State of
California.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk hereby is authorized and
directed to cause a copy of this Resolution to be printed in
a newspaper of general circulation and to be posted at each
jcb site where won: is performed pursuant to a public works
contract aw;.rded by the City of Cypress.
