A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS
RELATING TO THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A FEE SCHEDULE TO BE
USED WITH THE LATEST EDITION OF THE NATIONAL ELECTRIC CODE
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Cypress has adopted
Ordinances requiring various building, plumbing, electrical, swimming
pool and grading permits; and
WHEREAS, said Ordinances require that fees for such permits shall
be set by Resolution of the City Council; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to update the fees required for electric
permits.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Cypress they do find and declare as follows.
Section 1: That the Schedule of fees referred to in Section 8-14
of Ordinance 571, adopted by the City Council on June 28, 1976 , shall
be established for the issuance of electrical permits as follows.
Fee Schedule
Minimum permit fee $ 3.00
Service meter 0-600V, not over 200 A 5.00
Service meter 0-600V, over 200 A 7.00
Service meter, over 600 V 15.00
Fixtures:
Outlets, (recepticles, switches, lights) 1 to 20, each .25
Additional, each .15
Lighting fixtures, each .25
Mercury vapor fixture on pole 2.00
Lighting pole or standard 2.00
Temporary, Permanent, or Construction Poles:
For temporary or permanent or construction poles 5.00
Additional support poles 1.50
Temporary underground service 5.00
Home Appliances:
Automatic washer 2.00
Clothes dryer 2.00
Dishwasher 2.00
Furnace 2.00
Garbage disposal 2.00
Kitchen or bath fan 2.00
Water heater 2.00
Pool heater 2.00
Radiant or ceil heat, per room 2.00
Cooking Appliances:
For each electrical range (standard) 2.00
For each electrical range (commercial) 5.00
For cooking unit with oven domestic 2.00
For each additional oven 2.00
For each commercial oven 5.00
For each fry kettle, toaster, waffle iron, coffee maker or
cooking device under 3000 W 2.00
Over 3000 W 5.00
Motors:
0 - and not over 1 horsepower 1.50
Over 1 - and not over 10 horsepower 3.00
Over 10 - and not over 50 horsepower 5.00
Over 50 - and not over 100 horsepower 10.00
Over 100 horsepower 25.00
Extra outlets for portable motors not over 2 horsepower 2.00

Generators and/or transformers:
Not more than 5 KW $ 3.00
Over 5 KW and not over 15 KW 5.00
Over 15 KW 10.00
Note: For the inspection of the installation of any motor
generator set, the same fee shall be charged as provided
for the motor of the same horsepower, but no charge shall
be made for the generator installation when in connection
with any such motor generator set.
Heaters and Heating Appliances:
For each air heater including 1650 W 1.00
For each air heater over 1650 W 2.00
For each radiant heater (1000 W or portion thereof) 2.00
For each hair dryer 2.00
For each infra -red drying unit not over 15,000 W 2.00
For each infra -red drying unit over 15,000 W 3.00
For each Kiln 5.00
Signs and High Potential Gas Tube Lighting:
One sign and one transformer or ballast 2.50
Each additional transformer, ballast, or time clock 1.25
For connecting or converting each sign decorative outline tubing2.00
For each lamp or holding device used in connection with a sign
or marquee; from 1 to 25 inclusive, each .15

Miscellaneous:

For any electrical work for which a permit is required but for
which no fee is herein provided, shall be, each 2.00
Inspection for which no fee is herein presecribed:
Each inspection per hour 12.00
Minimum charge per each additional 1/2 hour or less 6.00
Additional inspection fee (in excess of one correction inspection) 10.00
Plan Check Fees:
Whenever electrical plans are required by the Building Official,
plan check fee shall be a minimum of 50% of the electrical permit
fee and shall not exceed $12.00 per hour. This fee shall be paid
at the time of submitting plans.
Section 2: The fees as set forth in this Resolution shall be
effective on July 28, 1976.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Cypress, at
a regular meeting held on the 28th day of June 1976.
