RESOLUTION NO. 1784
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS,
COUNTY OF ORANGE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, APPOINTING A TIME
AND PLACE FOR HEARING PROTESTS IN RELATION TO THE PRO-
POSED IMPROVEMENT REFERRED TO IN RESOLUTION OF INTENTION
NO.1783 AND DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK OF SAID CITY OF
CYPRESS, CALIFORNIA, TO GIVE NOTICE OF SAID HEARING
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Cypress, County of Orange, State
of California, did in Resolution No. 1771 of said Council, adopted September 27,
1976, pursuant to the provisions of Division 14, Part 1, Streets and Highways
Code, State of California, as amended, hereinafter referred to as the "Street
Lighting Act of 1919", require the City Engineer of said City to make and file
with the City Clerk of said City a written preliminary report presenting cer-
tain matters relating to a proposed installation and maintenance of a Street
Lighting System which system is to be annexed to Cypress Lighting District
No. 2; and,
WHEREAS, the City Engineeer, pursuant to the requirements of said City
Council expressed in Resolution No. 1771, and of said Street Lighting Act
of 1919, did make and file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of
Cypress, California, his written preliminary report relating to the proposed
installation of a Street Lighting System together with systems to be annexed
to Cypress Lighting District No. 2; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the said City has proceeded to carefully
examine, inspect and consider said preliminary report, and has afforded all
persons interested an opportunity to be heard with reference thereto and is
satisfied with said preliminary report and with each and all the various items
thereof and the matters therein set forth; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of said City, did in Resolution No. 1782approve
said preliminary report on the 25th day of October, 1976, in conformity with the
provisions of the Street Lighting Act of 1919; and,
WHEREAS, after the approval of said preliminary report, and in conformity
with the provision of said Lighting Act of 1919, said City Council did duly
and regularly adopt it as Resolution of Intention No. 1783 entitled, "A
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS, COUNTY OF ORANGE, STATE
OF CALIFORNIA, DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO ORDER A STREET LIGHTING SYSTEM ON
CERTAIN STREETS IN THE CITY OF CYPRESS, TO BE INSTALLED AND MAINTAINED AND
ELECTRIC CURRENT TO BE FURNISHED FOR LIGHTING SAID SYSTEM FOR A PERIOD OF
FOUR (4) YEARS AND BEGINNING JANUARY 1, 1978, TOGETHER WITH ANNEXATION NOS.
16 AND 17 WHICH STREET LIGHTING SYSTEMS ARE TO BE ANNEXED TO CYPRESS LIGHTING
DISTRICT NO. 2"; and,
WHEREAS, it now becomes the duty of this Council to appoint a time and
place for heraing protests in relation to the proposed improvement referred
to in said Resolution of Intention No.1783 and to direct the giving of notice
of said hearing;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, ORDERED AND DETERMINED by the
Mayor and the City Council of the City of Cypress, County of Orange, State of
California, as follows:
SECTION 1. That the 22nd day of November, 1976, at the hour of 8:00 p.m.,
of said day, be, and the same is hereby appointed as the place for hearing
proposed improvement.
SECTION 2. That the City Clerk of the said City of Cypress is hereby
authorized, designated and directed to give notice of said hearing in time,
form and manner as required by the Street Lighting Act of 1919.
SECTION 3. The City Council of the City of Cypress hereby declares that
there is no daily or weekly newspaper published and circulated in the City
of Cypress. The City Clerk of the City of Cypress is hereby directed to post
notice of said hearing for four days in three public places in the City of
Cypress, pursuant to Section 18013 of the Street Lighting Act of 1919.

SECTION 4. That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
Resolution and the same shall thereupon take effect and be in force.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Cypress, at a
regular meeting held on the 25th day of October, 1976,
