Resolution No. 1820RESOLUTION NO. 1820 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS SUPPORTING THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE COYOTE CREEK BICYCLE PATH. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Cypress has reviewed and discussed the preliminary report entitled Coyote Creek Bicycle Path as prepared by the Los Angeles County Road Department, and WHEREAS, the Cypress City Council wishes to go on record in strong support of the establishment of the Coyote Creek Bicycle Path but is concerned that adequate consideration be given to the accessibility of the bicycle path to police and emergency vehicles and that the potential problems o vandalism be taken into consideration particularly if nighttime use is tobe encouraged, and WHEREAS, since the proposed bicycle path is in conformance with the City's adopted Master Plan of Trails and would be of direct benefit to the residents of Cypress and western Orange County, the City of Cypress is prepared to commit its annual allocation of funds derived under SB -821 for the implemen- tation of the bicycle path. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Cypress endorses the proposal by the Los Angeles County Road Department for the establishment of a bicycle path along the Coyote Creek Channel betweenthe San Cabriel River and Meyer Road and urges all affected governmental agencies to review and support the implementation of this proposal.
