Resolution No. 1831RESOLUTION NO. 1831 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS REQUESTING THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA ASSOCIATION OF GOVERNMENTS TO INCLUDE THE COYOTE CREEK BICYCLE PATH AT LINCOLN AVENUE AND SOUTHERN PACIFIC RAILROAD TRACKS IN THE SB 821 BICYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN FUNDING CLAIMS WHEREAS, the City of Cypress desires to improve the Coyote Creek Bicycle Path at Lincoln Avenue and at the Southern Pacific Railroad Tracks; and WHEREAS, the Coyote Creek Bicycle Path is an important bikeway in the Cypress Master Plan of Trails; and WHEREAS, the Cypress City Council is concerned that adequate consideration be given to the accessibility of the bicycle path to Police and emergency vehicles and that the potential problems of vandalism be taken into consideration, particularly if nighttime use is to be encouraged; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Cypress hereby requests the Southern California Association of Governments to allocate to said City from the SB 821 Bicycle and Pedestrian Funding Claims the amount of $50,000, to be used to aid said City in the improvement of the Coyote Creek Bicycle Path at Lincoln Avenue and at Southern Pacific Railroad Tracks; said improvements to be in accordance with the project statement, a copy of which is on file in the Office of the City Clerk.
