RESOLUTION NO. 1255
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS
IN SUPPORT OF 100,000 IN MAY BEING CONDUCTED BY THE LOS
ANGELES MEMORIAL COLISEUM COMMISSION ON MAY 29, 1972.
WHEREAS, the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum Commission is presenting
100,000 IN MAY on Memorial Day, Monday, May 29, 1972, free of charge for
the benefit of all Americans; and
WHEREAS, 100,000 IN MAY realizes that American feelings are divided
on the issue of Vietnam, but that all Americans agree that those men missing
or being held captive deserve the right to be treated with dignity and com-
passion; and
WHEREAS, 100,000 IN MAY was conceived in the hope that this project of
concern will inspire resultant humanitarian acts; and
WHEREAS, 100,000 IN MAY is endorsed by the Los Angeles County Supervisors,
and is sponsored by the L.A. Memorial Coliseum Commission, Veterans of Foreign
Wars, American Legion, Fighter Pilots Association, Am. Vets, Air Force
Association, and the Jewish War Veterans.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Cypress
is in unanimous support of 100,000 IN MAY and commends the efforts of the L.A.
Memorial Coliseum Commission for sponsoring this event.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Cypress at a regular
meeting held on the 22nd day of May, 1972.
