HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 33RESOLUTION NO. 33 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS, REQUEST- ING TRAFFIC CONTROL AT THE INTERSECTIJN OF LINCOLN AVENUE AND WALKER STREET. WHEREAS, there is considerable cross vehicular traffic at the intersection of Walker Street and Lincoln Avenue (a State Highway) and during peak hours traffic is backed up on Talker Street, and WHEREAS, the primary pedestrian crossing over Lincoln Avenue (divided, four -lane highway) for the entire Cypress business district is at said intersection, and WHEREAS, a number of traffic accidents have occurred at said intersection, and WHEREAS, a great many school children are discharged from buses at said intersection, WHEREAS, an elementary school is located one block from said intersection, and WHEREAS, one-way boulevard stops would greatly endanger the lives of both pedestrians and occupants of vehicles, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Cypress hereby requests, preferably, traffic signals, or at least four-way boulevard stops for said intersection.
