HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 40RESOLUTION NO. 40 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS, CALIFORNIA, CHANGING AND ADOPTING OFFICIAL CITY SEAL. WHEREAS, this City has heretofore adopted an official seal for the City of Dairy City; and, WHEREAS, the name of this City has been recently changed from Dairy City to Cypress and it is desirable to change the official seal to reflect the name change; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the official seal of the City of Cypress is as follows: Two concentric circles within which, across the upper one-half, appear the capitalized words "CITY OF CYPRESS;" across the lower one-half appear the words "JULY - CALIFORNIA - 1956;" the upper half and lower half of the wording are separated by a five -pointed star at each side; through the center of the innermost circle, ascending from left to right and outlined appears the word "PROGRESS;" above this word is the outline of a dairy barn and below is the outline of a factory; to the extreme left of the inner circle is an evergreen tree. vote: ADOPTED this 21st day of October, 1957, by the following AYES: Councilmen Arnold, Arrowood, Baroldi, and Van Dyke NOES: None ABSENT: Councilman Van Leeuwen Signed and approved this 21st d -40- Resolution No. 40 Jacob Van Dyke, Mayor
