RESOLUTION DECLARING THAT PROCEEDINGS HAVE
BEEN INITIATED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CYPRESS TO ANNEX TO SAID CITY CERTAIN
UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESCRIBED HEREIN AND
DESIGNATED "LAWRENCE ANNEXATION", AND GIVING
NOTICE OF THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS:
1. That, pursuant to the provisions of the .nnexation
of Uninhabited Territory .:=,ct of 1939, proceedings have been
initiated by the Council of the City of Cypress, on its own
motion, to annex to the City of Cypress, all that uninhabi-
ted territory situate in the County of Orange, State of Cali-
fornia, hereby designated as 'Lawrence Annexation", and des-
cribed as follows:
Beginning at an angle point in the existing boundary
of the City of Cypress, said angle point being the
intersection of a line parallel to and distant 30.00
feet southerly, measured at right angles, from the
north line of Section 17, Township 4 South, Range 11
West, in theRancho Los Coyotes, as shown on a Map
recorded in Book 51, Page 11 of Miscellaneous Maps in
the office of the County Recorder of the County of
Orange, State of California, with the west line of said
Section 17, said west line being the common boundary
between the County of Los Angeles and said County of
Orange; thence northerly, along said west line and
said conailon boundary, to the northwest corner of said
Section 17; thence northeasterly, along said common
boundary, to the southerly right-of-way line of the
Orange County Flood Control District right-of-way as
described in Deed recorded in Book 3632, Page 36 of
Official Records in the office of said County Recorder
of said County of Orange, thence easterly andrnrtheast-
erly, along said southerly right-of-way line and the
southerly right-of-way line of the Orange County Flood
Control District right-of-way as described in Deed
recorded in Book 4254, Page 249, of Official Records in
the office of said County Recorder of said County of
Orange, to the south line of the northeast quarter (NE4)
of the southwest quarter (SW4) of Section 8, in said
Township and Range; thence easterly, along said south
line, to the west line of the east half (ED of the east
half (ED of the northeast quarter (NE4) of the south-
west quarter (SWI+) of said Section 3; thence northerly,
along said west line, to a line parallel to and distant
15.00 feet southerly, measured at right angles, from
the north line of the south half (SD of said Section 3;
thence easterly, along said parallel line, to the east
line of the northwest quarter (NW4) of the southeast quarter
(SE -14) of said Section thence southerly, along said east line,

to the south line of the northwest quarter (NW4) of
southeast quarter (SEk) of said Section 0; thence
westerly, along said south line, to the east line of
the west half 041/2) of the southwest quarter (SWC;) of
the southeast quarter (SE4) of said Section 3; thence
southerly, along said east line, to a line parallel
to and distant 30.00 feet northerly, measured at right
angles, from the south line of said Section 8; thence
westerly, along said parallel line, to a line parallel
to and distant 15.00 feet westerly, measured at right
angles, from the west line of the southeast quarter
(SE4.) of said Section 8; thence southerly, along said
parallel line and a line parallel to and distant 15.00
feet westerly, measured at right angles, from the east
line of the northwest quarter (NW -20 of said Section 17,
to a line parallel to and distant 30.00 feet southerly,
measured at right angles, from the north line of the
northwest quarter (Wk) of said Section 17, said last
mentioned parallel line being the existing boundary of
said City of Cypress; thence westerly, along said para-
llel line and said existing boundary, to the point of
beginning.
2. That the Council of the City of Cyress desires to
annex said uninhabited territory to the City of Cypress for
the following reasons: The territory is contiguous to the City
of Cypress, and its proposed annexation will contribute to and
facilitate the orderly growth and development of both the City
and the territory proposed to be annexed; that the owners of
all of the lands comprising the said Lawrence Annexation have
filed with the City Council a written request asking that the
annexation of said property to the City of Cypress occur; and
that the proposed annexation will provide and facilitate proper
overall planning and zoning of lands and subdivision of lands
in said City and said uninhabited territory in a manner most
conducive to the welfare of said City and said uninhabited
territory.
3. That theCounty Boundary Commission of Orange County,
California, did in session duly assembled on May 19
1950, approve the proposed annexation boundaries of said
Lawrence Annexation as above described and as submitted to said
Commission by the Council of the City of Cypress.
4. That Monday July 14
at the hour of 7:30. P. A.

, in tie Council Chambers in the

City Hall in the City of Cypress, County of Orange, Califor-
nia, is hereby fixed as the time and place when and where any
person owning real property within the uninhabited territory
above described and proposed to be annexed to the City of
Cypress, and having any objections to the proposed annexation,
may appear before the Council of the City of Cypress and show
cause why such uninhabited territory should not be so annexed
to said City of Cypress. Such protest must be in writing, may
be filed at any time before the hour set for hearing objections
to the proposed annexation, and shall state the name or names
of the owner or owners of property affected, and the descrip-
tion and area of such property, in general terms.
5. The City Clerk of the City of Cypress is hereby auth-
orized and directed to cause the posting of a copy of this reso-
lution not less than twenty (20) days before the hearing, in at
least three (3) conspicuous places within the territory proposed
to be annexed, as there is no newspaper of general circulation
published within the City of Cypress; that as the owners of all
of the territory proposed to be annexed to the City of Cypress
have requested by petition the annexation to said City, there
is no necessity for publication of the notice outside of the
City.
6. The City Clerk is further authorized and directed to
cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be mailed to
each person to whom land within the territory propcszd to be
annexed is assessed in the last equalized county assessment roll
available on the date the above said proceedings were initiated,
at the addresses shown on said assessment roll or known to the
Clerk, and to any person who has filed his name and address and
the designation of the lands in which he has an interest, either
legal or equitable, with the Clerk, such notice to be given not
less than twenty (20) days before the first public hearing on
the proposed annexation.

7. In the event any land within the territory proposed
to be annexed is owned by a county, the City Clerk is directed
to cause written notice of such proposed annexation to be
mailed to the Board of Supervisors of the county, such notice
to be given not less than twenty (20) days before the first
public hearing on the proposed annexation.
O. In the event there is, upon the land proposed to be
annexed, a structural improvement owned, being acquired or
leased by a county fire protection district, the said Clerk is
directed to cause written notice of such proposed annexation
to be mailed to the governing body of such district, such not-
ice to be sent not less than ten (10) days before the first pub-
lic hearing upon such proposed annexation.
9. The City Clerk is directed to cause written notice to
be given to such other persons as may be legally entitled there-
to, in the manner required by law.

NOES: Councilmen Arnold and McCarney
