HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 73RESOLUTION NO. 73 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS RE: AGREEMENT BETWEEN CITY OF CYPRESS AND THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA, ACTING BY AND THROUGH THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS. WHEREAS, The City of Cypress has made application to the Department of Finance for an allocation of funds to meet costs to repair and restore storm and flood damage or destruction to public real property pursuant to the Budget Act of 1958; and WHEREAS, the work covered by said application has been investigated by the Department of Public Works and a report thereon filed with the Department of Finance and said report has been approved by the Director of Finance; and WHEREAS, it is necessary and expedient that the City of Cypress enter into an agreement with said Department of Public Works with reference to performance and financing of said work and other matters related thereto; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Cypress that the City of Cypress enter into an agreement with the said Department of Public Works, a copy of which agreement is attached hereto; and be it FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to execute said agreement in the name of the City of Cypress. GENUAL PROVISIONS. ARTICLE II. SPECIAL PROVISIONS. 1. The work to be done consists of repair and restora- tion of alty streets as detailed hereunder, which list includes estimated costs: I.00a- tlon AO. j,oQatl on 1 Cerritos Avenue Walker St. to Knott Avenue. 2 Miller Street Ball Rd. to 1/4 ml. north. 3 Orange Avenue Moody St. to Bloomfield. 4 and 5 Moody Street Orange Ave. to 1/4 mi. north. Cerritos Ave. to 1/2 m1. north. Description of Work Repair holes and failed areas. Estimated Cost $ 1,300 Reconstruct, add rock base and pave with PMS. Portion eligible for 10,000 State aid. (Betterment - not (35,000) eligible for State aid.) Patch holes and failed areas. Reconstruct street to original con- dition by roadmlx methods. 7,650 Repair failed portions. 15,500 Reconstruct road to ori- ginal condition by road - mix methods. Patch holes and repair 8,340 portions of pavement. Reconstruct road to original condition by roadmlx methods, Subtotal $42,790 Contingencies 2.110 Total $44,900 Betterment (35.000) GRAND TOTAL $79,900 2. The work has been done or will be performed by the Local Apenoy or under contract or contracts let by the Looal Agency. 3. Any plans and specifications required will be 8-79H45 prepared by the Local Agency. 4, All work shall be completed prior to December 1, 1959. 5. None of the work covered by this agreement Is eligible for Federal -aid Highway or Civil Defense (Public Law 875) funds. 6. The estimated costa for Location No. 1 shown in para- graph 1 are the actual expenditures for emergency repairs com- pleted before the date of application, - plus the estimated cost of a future contract covering. reconstruction.
