A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS, CALIFORNIA,
ORDERING, CALLING AND PROVIDING FOR THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION
TO BE HELD ON THE 12TH DAY OF APRIL, 1960.
WHEREAS, Section 36503 of the Government Code requires that
a. general municipal election be held in general law cities on
the second Tuesday in April of each even numbered year;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Cypress,
California, does hereby RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOS:
Section 1. That said general municipe,.l election be held
and the same is hereby called to be held in the City of Cypress
on April 12, 1960.
Section 2. That the polls for said election shall be opened
at seven o'clock A. M. of the day of said election and shall re-
main open continuously from said time until seven o'clock P. M.
of the same day, when said polls shall be closed, except as
provided in Section 5734 of the Elections Code of the State of
California,
Section 3. That for the purpose of holding said general
municipal election there shall be and is hereby established one
(1) voting precinct designated as hereinafter stated. Such
voting precinct shall consist of the entire City of Cypress and
that the polling place for the consolidated precinct shall be
the place hereinafter designated.
That there be established City of Cypress consolidated
voting Precinct 1, comprising State and County precinct numbers
Cypress 1, 2, 3, and 4: Said single precinct is a consolidation
of regular election precincts established for the holding of State
and County elections, as they exist on the date of adoption of
this resolution.
The polling place shall be the Cypress City Hall.
Section 4. That except as otherwise provided in this re-
solution, the election called hereby shall be held and conducted
as provided by Chapter 2, Part 2, Division 11 of the Elections
Resolution No. 106
Code, and in all respects not otherwise provided for in said
Chapter, said election shall be held and conducted in accordance
with the provisions of the Elections Code governingelections
generally, so far as they may be applicable.
Section 5. That the compensation which shall be Paid to
each election officer and the rental to be paid to each owner
as rental for each polling place is as follows:
Inspector: 4 21,00
Judge: 18.00
Clerks: 18,00
Polling Place: None
Section 6. That the following persons be appointed to the
positions designated on the Board of Cypress Consolidated City
Precinctlfor the Municipal Election to be held on April 12, 1960:
Inspector: Mrs. Grace Whittaker
Judge: Miss Bertha Rosen
Clerk Mrs. Waneta Vaughan
Clerk: Mrs. Peter D. Gorzman
Alternate: Mrs. Frank Cardoza
Alternate:
Section 7. That the City Council of said City shall meet
at its usual place of meeting on April 19, 1960, at 8:30 o'clock
P. M., of said day, and proceed to canvass the election returns
and declar-3 the result of said election.
Section 8. That the City Clerk shall give the notices re-
quired by law for the holding of said general municipal election.
Section 9. This resolution shall take effect upon its
adoption.
ADOPTED this 29th day of February, 1960, by the following
vote:
