Minutes 77-04-28MINUTES OF AN ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING OF THE CYPRESS CITY COUNCIL HELD April 28, 1977 The adjourned regular meeting of the Cypress City Council was called to order at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday, April 28, 1977 in the auditorium of Patton Elementary School, 6861 Santa Rita Avenue, Garden Grove, California, Mayor Donald Hudson presiding. PRESENT: Councilmen Hudson ABSENT: None Harvey, Lacayo, MacLain, Sonju and The meeting was scheduled in order to hear comments from the public in regard to the proposed parking ban on street sweeping days. The City Manager reported that he received a communication from Supervisor Schmit's office indicating the Board of Supervisors on April 27 unanimously directed the County Counsel to undertake legal action to require an environmental impact statement for Los Alamitos Naval Air Station. Mr. Essex stated he discussed this matter with several cities and the only city which has taken action is Seal Beach which has requested that they be repre- sented by the County Counsel with the understanding there will be no cost to the city. Mr. Essex stated the City Attorney felt similar action by Cypress would be appropriate. It was moved by Councilman Harvey, seconded by Councilwoman Sonju and unanimously carried to direct the City Manager to send a letter to the Orange County Board of Supervisors requesting that the County Counsel represent the City of Cypress in the action relating to the environmental impact statement for Los Alamitos Naval Air Station. The City Manager reported that Assemblyman Chet Wray would be in front of City Hall in a mobile unit on April 29 at 1:00 p.m. ADJOURNMENT: It was moved by Councilman Lacayo, seconded by Councilwoman MacLain and unanimously carried to adjourn the meeting at 7:50 p.m. to Monday, May 2 at 7:30 p.m. in the Cypress Community Center.
