RESOLUTION NO. 1347
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS
SUPPORTING ORANGE COUNTY'S MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL CLUB --
THE CALIFORNIA ANGELS.
WHEREAS, the California Angels of the American Baseball League began their
8th season in Orange County on April 6, 1973, at Anaheim Stadium; and
WHEREAS, Orange County's own Major League Baseball Club, because of the
recent acquisition of top-flight management and playing personnel, anticipates
its most spectacular, colorful and successful season to date; and
WHEREAS, the benefits which the California Angels have brought to Orange
County cities range from national attention and prestige to local involvement
with Little League and other youth programs.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Cypress
in recognition of the continuous and costly efforts of the California Angels
to improve their competitive posture, and thus further enhance their contri-
butions to all of Orange County, does hereby enjoin all citizens to demonstrate
their support and appreciation of Major League Baseball in Orange County by
cheering the team onward at its home games throughout the 1973 season.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Cypress at a regular
meeting held on the 9th day of April, 1973.
