A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS
COMMENDING THE CYPRESS POP WARNER PEE WEE DIVISION CHIEFS
FOR WINNING THE ORANGE EMPIRE CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP
WHEREAS, the Cypress Chiefs were newly formed in the Cypress Pop Warner
Pee Wee Division for the 1974 football season; and

272 points per game; and
Chiefs provided a football experience for 34 boys; and
Chiefs played twelve football games without a defeat; and
Chiefs' offense scored 334 points for an average of over
WHEREAS, the Cypress Chiefs' defense held the opponents to a total of only
39 points for the season, of which seven opponents were held scoreless; and
WHEREAS, the Cypress Chiefs represented Cypress Pop Warner in the Orange Bowl
where they defeated the Fullerton Tigers by a score of 14 to 6; and
WHEREAS, the Cypress Chiefs' victory in the Orange Bowl made them the Orange
Empire Conference champions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that, in recognition for an unequaled performance
during the 1974 football season, the City Council of the City of Cypress hereby
commends the players and coaching staff of the CYPRESS CHIEFS for an outstanding
season in bringing distinction to Cypress as the Orange Empire Conference champions.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Cypress at a regular
meeting held on the 9th day of December, 1974.
