May 20, 1959
An adjourned regular meeting of the City Council of the City of
Cypress was called to order by Mayor Van Dyke in the City Hall,
9352 Walker Street, at 6 30 o'clock P M.
Councilmen °resent: T. A, Baroldi, M. G. McCarney, and J. Van Dyke
Councilmen absent• A. E Arnold and W. J. Arrowood
City officials present. Deputy City Clerk -City Manager Wesenberg,
and City Attorney Howell
LOT PURCHASE AGREEMENT, MILLER STREET
Upon motion of Councilman McCarney, seconded by Councilman Baroldi
and unanimously carried, the proper City officials were authorized
to execute the agreement for the purchase of Lot B, Tract 94, on
Miller Street.
RESOLUTION, BUDGET FOR ENGINEERING FUNDS, 1959-60
Upon motion of Councilman Baroldi' seconded by Councilman McCarney
and unanimously carried, the Council adopted Resolution No. 88,
approving the budget for gas tax engineering funds for the fiscal
year 1959-60.
RESOLUTION, PROJECT STATEMENT NO. 4
Upon motion of Councilman McCarney, seconded by Councilman Baroldi
and unanimously carried, the Council adopted Resolution No. 89,
adopting Project Statement No. 4 budgeting the gas tax funds for
streets for the fiscal year 1959-60.
WEED ABATEMENT HEARING
The Deputy City Clerk stated that this was the time and place as
noticed for the hearing of protests on the posting of property for
weed abatement by the County Fire Warden. The Deputy City Clerk
stated that no written protests had been received by the City Clerk's
office. Since there were no protests from those present in the
Council Chamber, the hearing was declared closed. Upon motion of
Councilman Baroldi, seconded by Councilman McCarney and unanimously
carried, the Council adopted Resolution No. 90, authorizing the

County Fire Warden to proceed with the removal of the weeds as
necessary on the posted properties,
CEERITOS AVENUE CONSTTEUCTION PROJECT STATEMENT
Upon motion of Councilman McCarney, seconded by Councilman Baroldi
and unanimously carried, the Council approved the project statement
as submitted by the City Engineer for the Cerritos Avenue construc-
tion project.
DENNI STREET ABANDONMENT CONTINUATION
The City Attorney stated that the formal report from the Orange County
Planning Commission had not been made, due to the fact that the mat-
ter had not come up before their meeting. He stated that the informal
report indicated that plans are being made to re -design the master
plan of highways in this area and that Denni Street might be eliminated*
Following discussion, upon motion of Councilman McCarney, seconded by
Councilman Baroldi and unanimously carried, the matter was continued
until Monday, June 1, 1959, at 6.30 o'clock P. M. in the City Hall,
said action being taken due to the fact that the full body was not
present,
Mr. Shubin, a member of the Citizens' Committee, presented a letter
which had been addressed to Councilman Arnold and asked that it be
read if everyone had not already read it. Mr. Shubin was informed
that each of the Councilmen had seen a copy of said letter.
ADJOURNMENT
Upon motion of Councilman Baroldi, seconded by Councilman McCarney
and unanimously carried, the meeting was adjourned at 7:30 o'clock
P. M. until June 1, 1959, at 6.30 o'clock P. M,
