1960-08-25 (Special Meeting)CONSENT TO HOLD AND WAIVER OF NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS That we, the undersigned, being all the Councilmen, by mutual consent and understanding beforehand, hereby consent to hold a special meeting of the Council of said City at the Cypress City Hall on the 25th day of August, 1960, at the hour of 5 00 P M. of said day, and we agree that all of the acts and proceedings of said meeting shall be as valid as if had or taken at a meeting duly and regularly called and noticed. We further waive all notice of the time, place, and purpose of said meeting, whether required by the laws or otherwise IN WITNESS WHEREOF, we have hereunto subscribed our signatures this 25th day of August, 1960. ,c5.-ife.io Thomas A Baroldi Walter cob Van Dyke August 25, 1960 MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS August 25, 1960 A special meeting of the City Council of the City of Cypress was called to order by Mayor Baroldi in the City Hall, 9352 Walker Street, at 5 00 o'clock P M. Mayor Baroldi stated that the one item on the agenda concerned his family and that he, therefore, disqualified himself from presiding or taking part in the Council discussion. Thereupon, Councilman Van Dyke assumed the Chair and conducted the meeting, Councilmen present: Councilmen absent W. J. Arrowood, J. J. Denni, M G. McCarney, J. Van Dyke, and T. A. Baroldi None City officials present* City Clerk Gordon and City Engineer Toups CEHRITOS AVENUE PROBLEM The City Engineer stated that the problem was two -fold. The contractor who is reconstructing Cerritos Avenue has discovered a small water line, a butane line and an irrigation line in the right-of-way and a redwood fence which is 7 feet in the right-of- way. These lines and fence belong to the Baroldi family. The second part of the problem is that the street has been graded too high in that area, creating several problems. There followed a lengthy discussion of these problems;p thereupon, the Council took the following actions 1. Upon motion of Councilman Arrowood, seconded by Council- man McCarney and unanimously carried (Councilman Baroldi abstaining), the Council authorized the City Engineer to arrange for the removal and replacement of the irriga- tion line, if necessary, at City expense. 2. Upon motion of Councilman Denni, seconded by Councilman McCarney and unanimously carried (Councilman Baroldi abstaining), the Council aithorized the City to arrange for natural gas to be supplied to Baroldi home to replace the butane line with to pay all necessary expenses. Upon motion of Councilman NcCarney, seconded by Councilman Denni and unanimously carried (Council- man Baroldi abstaining), the Council authorized that the contractor be reimbursed for his time and material in moving the small water line. 4. Upon motion of Councilman NcCarney, seconded by Council- man Denni and unaimously carried (Councilman Baroldi abstaining), the Council authorized the City Engineer to have the redwood fence across the front of the Leo Baroldi property moved back at City expense and the matter of the plants, shrubs and bushes which have to be moved was left to the discretion of the City Engineer and the property owner as to whether to move or replace them at City expense. 5. The City Engineer was authorized to lower the street as he had outlined. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business to come before the Council, upon motion of Councilman. Denni, seconded by Councilman Van Dyke and unanimously carried, the meeting was adjourned at 6 30 o'clock P. until the next regular meeting.
