CONSIDERATION OF RESOLUTION OF THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS
APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING TRANSMITTAL OF A PRELIMINARY REPORT ON THE CIVIC
CENTER REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT AMENDMENT NO. 1: The City Manager recapped the
staff report dated December 31, 1987, which indicated this was a preliminary
report and the first step in processing the amendment to the Redevelopment
area, which includes the tank farm facility. The Preliminary Report will be
transmitted to the various affected agencies to initiate discussions with
them. The Planning Director stated Staff has worked closely with the
Consultant throughout the document preparation; has read the subject document
and also recommends approval of the Preliminary Report. She further advised
that there is an item to add and called upon the consultant to step forward.
Mr. Brice Russell, GRC Redevelopment Consultants, Inc., 150 W. First Street,
Suite 280, Claremont, advised that the correction occurs on page 19, under
Section 4, "Other Facilities/Improvement" and a category "d" entitled "Senior
Citizen Housing" should be added and suggested that approximately $5,000,000
be considered for that project and 1991 might be a realistic time frame given
the projected tax increment flows.
It was moved by Agency Member Mullen and seconded by Agency Member Davis to
adopt the Resolution by title only, title as follows, approving the
Preliminary Report and authorizing staff to transmit the subject report to the
County and all other affected taxing agencies. Also, to include the
correction as outlined by Mr. Russell, which would change the total cost of
the project to $24,350,000.
