1957-02-22 (Special Meeting)CONSENT TO HOLD AND WAIVER OF NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DAIRY CITY KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS That we, the undersigned, being all the Councilmen, by mutual consent and understanding beforehand, hereby consent to hold a special meeting of the Council of said City at the Dairy City City Hall on the 22nd day of February 1957 at the hour of 10 30 A is of said day, and we agree that all of the acts and proceedings of said meeting shall be as valid as if had or taken at a meeting duly and regularly called and noticed We further waive all notice of the time, place, and pur- pose of said meeting, whether required by the laws or otherwise IN WITNESS WHEREOF, we have hereunto subscribed our signatures this 22nd day of February, 1957. Arrowood, T A naroldi, Jacob Van Leeuwen, Jr , and Jacob Van Dyke Councilmen absent None City officials present. City Clerk Olsthoorn and City Manager - Deputy Clerk Wesenberg Heading of the minutes of the previous meeting was waived. LINCOLN AVENUE CENTER STRIP - COMMITTEE B.EP0RT Councilman Arnold reported that the committee, consisting of him- self, Councilman Van Leeuwen and Councilman Arrowood, together with City Manager Wesenberg, had met with City Manager Storm of Buena Park, and State Assemblyman Dick Hanna to consider the type of divider strip that would best suit the situation along Lincoln Avenue It was the Committee's opinion that a raised island would speed traffic up, which would be a dangerous situa- tion because of the fact that the Cypress school is located on the highway and because it would be dangerous to pedestrians crossing in the local busines district Councilman Arrowood moved seconded by Councilman Van Leeuwen, that the Council adopt a resolution requesting of the Division of Highways, State of California that there be no center strip on Lincoln avenue, in Dairy City, other than that formed by white lines without bars This is Aesolution No 17 Motion was carried unanimously by the following roll call vote AYE�� Councilmen Arnold, Arrowood, Baroldi, Van Dyke, and Van Leeuwen NOES None ABSENT None -1- February 22, 1957 Copies of this resolution were to be sent to the cities of Buena Park.and Anaheim, State Assemblyman Hanna and State Senator i'iurdy as soon as possible CITY ATTORNEY RETAINER FEE After much discussion, it was the Council's recommendation to the committee that they negotiate with the Attorneys on the basis of ti150 00 per month, w100 00 per month instead of 450 00 per month, retroactive to the inception of the city city to pay T5 00 per month toward the law library, the contract to run for one year CANCER SOCIETY Councilman Van Leeuwen moved, seconded by Councilman Arrowood, and unanimously carried, that the Council had ,ao objection to a canvass of the City by the Cancer-'ociety for their fund-raising campaign. AMENDMENT TO LAND USE ORDINANCE After discussion, the Council voted to rescind the action taken at the previous meeting on the amendment to the land use ordinance setting the number of cows to be allowed per acre at 25 The City Manager and the City Attorney were instructed to work out the legal aspects of this matter and report back to the Council RELEASE OF ATTORNEY Councilman Arrowood moved, seconded by Councilman Arnold, and unanimously carried, that a letter be sent to ii. S Bernard, informing him that, since he is no longer active in the service of the City, his name is being taken from the roster of the City's attorneys, and thanking hint for his previous services to the City ADJOURNMENT There being no f DA/� business, the meeting was duly adjourned until the regulay.eting.
