August 12, 1957
A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Dairy City
was called to order in the City Hall, 9352 Walker Street, at
7 30 P M , with Mayor Van Dyke presiding.
Councilmen present A E. Arnold W J Arrowood, T A Baroldi,
J Van Leeuwen, and J Van Dyke
Councilmen absent None
City officials present
City Manager -Deputy City Clerk Wesenberg,
City Attorney Howell, and City Engineer
Neff
Minutes of the regular meeting of July 8, 1957, were read by the
Deputy Clerk Upon motion of Councilman Baroldi, seconded by
Councilman Van Leeuwen, and unanimously carried, the minutes
were approved as read
Minutes of the adjourned regular meeting of July 10, 1957, were
read by the Deputy Clerk Councilman Arnold pointed out that
the minutes did not state that he was absent when the meeting
was re -convened. Councilman Baroldi pointed out that the name
of the street should be "Saratoga Drive" rather than "Enterprise
Drive " It was moved by Councilman Baroldi, seconded by Council-
man Arnold, and unanimously carried, that the minutes be approved
as corrected
COUNTY CONTRACTS
The City Manager presented and explained generally the agreement
with the County for County Building Department services It was
moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by Councilman Arrowood, that
the Council authorize the proper City officials to sign the agree-
ment with the County Building Department for buildin& services,
which motion was carried by the following rol] call vote
AYES. Councilmen Arnold, Arrowood, Baroldi,
Van Dyke, and Von Leeuwen
NOES None
ABSENT None
The City Manager then presented the agreement for law enforcement
and gave a general explanation Whereupon, it was moved by
Councilman Van Leeuwen, seconded by Councilman Baroldi, that the
proper City officials be authorized to sign the agreement with the

County for Law Enforcement services, which motion was carried by
the following roll call vote.

The City Manager then presented and explained the Fire Protection
Agreement Upon request, the Agreement was read in full It
was moved by Councilman BEroldi, seconded by Councilman Arrowood,
that the proper City officials be authorized to sign the agreement
with the County for Fire Protection services, which motion was
carried by the following roll call vote•
AYES Councilmen Arnold, Arrowood, Baroldi, Van
Leeuwen, and Van Dyke
NOES. None
ABSENT None
REGISTER OF DEMANDS
It was moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by Councilman Van
Leeuwen, and unanimously carried that the Register of Demands be
approved as submitted
TAX RATE RESOLUTION
The Deputy Clerk presented and read a resolution, No 29, entitled,
"A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DAIRY CITY ESTAB-
LISHING THE MUNICIPAL TAX RATE FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1957-58 "
Councilman Arrowood moved, seconded by Councilman Van Leeuwen,
that said resolution be adopted, which motion was carried by the
following roll call vote•
AYES Councilmen Arnold, Arrowood, Baroldi,
Van Dyke, and Van Leeuwen
NOES None
ABSENT None
BUILDING CODES ORDINANCE
The Deputy Clerk stated that this was the time and day fixed for

the public hearing on the adoption of the County Building Codes
He asked if there were any objections to said adoption from the
floor and there were none He then stated that no objections
had been received in the mail. Since there were no objections
from the floor•, the Mayor closed the public hearing The
Deputy Clerk then read the title of Ordinance No 23, adopting
the Orange County Building Code, Plumbing Code, Electrical Safety
Orders, Electrical Code, and Heating and Ventilating Code
Whereupon, it was moved by Councilman V -n Leeuwen, seconded by
Councilman Arnold, and unanimously carried, that further reading
be waived and that said ordinance be introduced and passed on to
the next meeting for final adoption
The Deputy Clerk then read the title of Ordinance No 24 adopting
the Orange County Trailer Park Ordinance It was moved by Coun-
cilman Arnold, seconded by Councilman Arrowood, and unanimously
carried, that further reading be waived and that said ordinance
be introduced and passed on to the next meeting for final
adoption
SALARY RESOLUTION
The Deputy Clerk presented and read Resolution No. 32, approving
the salaries and retainers to be paid by the City for the fiscal
year 1957-58 It was moved by Councilman Arrowood, seconded by
Councilman Van Leeuwen, that said resolution be adopted, which
motion was carried by the following roll call vote

Van Dyke, and Van Leeuwen

GOLF COURSE VARIANCE AMENDMENT
After explanation by the City Manager as to the need for the amend-
ment, it was moved by Councilman Arnold, seconded by Councilman
Baroidi, and unanimously carried, that the Vessels Land and

Development Company use variance No UV -3759 be amended by the
following conditions
1. The club house building shall be located 140
feet back from the centerline of Katella Avenue;
2. The southeast corner of the club house building
shall be located 488 feet east of the west
property line of applicant;
3 The parking lot shall have parking spaces for
224 cars,
4. In condition No. 3 of the original permit,
"Enterprise Drive" should be "Saratoga Drive "
ZONING ORDINANCE, OOSTEN ANNEXATION
The Deputy Clerk read Ordinance No 28, classifying the land use
in the Oosten Annexation territory as A-2, Heavy Agriculture,
and designating the A-2 classification for all future annexa-
tions, unless otherwise specified It was moved by Councilman
Baroldi, seconded by Councilman Arrowood, that said ordinance
be adopted as an urgency measure, which motion was carried by
the following roll call vote.

Van Dyke, and Van Leeuwen
NOES. None
ABSENT None
MAIL CARRIER SERVICE
There appeared before the Council a Mr. Bordner, who gave a
brief talk on the advantages of mail carrier service out of the
Cypress post office Following discussion, Councilman Arnold
moved, seconded by Councilman. Baroldi, that, based upon the in-
formation just presented, the Council favored such a service and
that the City Manager and appropriate City officials be instruc-
ted to investigate the possibility of obtaining this service for
the area, which motion was unanimously carried

ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business, upon motion duly made and
seconded and unanimously carried, the meeting was adjourned
until August 13, 1957
