1958-03-18 (Special Meeting)CONSENT TO HOLD AND WAIVER OF NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS. That we, the undersigned, being all the Councilmen, by mutual consent and understanding beforehand, hereby consent to hold a special meeting of the Council of said City at the Cypress City Hall on the 18th day of March, 1958, at the hour of 5 00 o'clock P M of said day, and we agree that all of the acts and proceedings of said meeting shall be as valid as if had or taken at a meeting duly and regularly called and noticed We further waive all notice of the time, place, and purpose of said meeting, whether required by the laws or otherwise IN WITNESS WHEREOF, we have hereunto subscribed our signatures this 18th day of March, 1958 �l r 'd Jacob Van Dyke / . M. in the City Hall. Councilmen present. A E Arnold, T A Baroldi, J Van Dyke, and J. Van Leeuwen Councilmen absent W J Arrowood City officials present. City Clerk Olsthoorn and Deputy City Clerk -City Manager esenberg FIRE CONTRACT The City Manager explained the proposed agreement with the County of Orange for fire protection services, retroactive to July, 1957 Upon motion of Councilman Arnold, seconded by Councilman Van Leeuwen and unanimously carried, by the follow- ing roll call vote, the Council authorized the appropriate City officials to sign the fire protection agreement with the County of Orange Roll call_ AYES Councilmen Arnold, Baroldi, Van Dyke and Van Leeuwen NOES* None ABSENT Councilman Arrowood METROPOLITAN GOVERNNENT RESOLUTION Upon motion of Councilman Baroldi, seconded by Councilman Arnold and unanimously carried, Resolution No 53, requesting the Federal Government to recognize Orange County as a metropolitan governmental area, was adopted. FIRE PROTECTION SERVICES REIMBURSEMENT Upon motion of Councilman Van Leeuwen, seconded by Councilman Baroldi and unanimously carried, the Council authorized payment to the Orange County Treasurer of 41,252.00 reimbursement for fire protection services. -1- March 18, 1958 -213 RETIREMENT SEMINAR Upon motion of Councilman Arnold, duly seconded by Councilman Baroldi and unanimously carried, the Council authorized the City Manager and Councilman Van Leeuwen to attend either one or both of two days of seminar meetings in Los Angeles on re- tirement plans given by the League of Cities. Dates on which the seminar will be held are March 27 and March 28 ADJOURNMENT There being no further business, the Council meeting was duly adjourned until the next regular meeting -2- March 18, 1958 acob Van Dyke, Mayo
