1958-04-10 (Special Meeting)CONSENT TO HOLD AND WAIVER OF NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS' That we, the undersigned, being all the Councilmen, by mutual consent and understanding beforehand, hereby consent to hold a special meeting of the Council of said City at the Cypress City Hall on the 10th day of April, 1958, at the hour of 1 00 o'clock P. 14. of said day, and we agree that all of the acts and proceedings of said meeting shall be as valid as if had or taken at a meeting duly and regularly called and noticed. We further waive all notice of the time, place, and purpose of said meeting, whether required by the laws or otherwise. Baroldi Jacob Van Leeuwen, MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS April 10, 1958 A special meeting of the City Council of the City of Cypress was called to order in the City Hall, 9352 Walker Street, at 1:00 o'clock P. t•i , with Mayor Van Dyke presiding. Councilmen present. -216 A. E. Arnold, W. J. Arrowood, T A. Baroldi, J. Van Leeuwen, and J. Van Dyke Councilmen absent None City officials present: City Clerk Olsthoorn and City Manager - Deputy City Clerk Wesenberg RACE TACK PLANS There were present at this meeting Mr. Donohue and Mr Gilliam of the Orange County Building and Safety Department and Mr. Ray Seis, Orange County Fire Marshal Mr Donohue presented the plans for the proposed new grandstand to be built at the Los Alamitos Race Course He explained that these plans embody the very latest im- provements in the construction of such buildings and that some of these improvements are so new that the County Building Codes do not cover them. He stated that, because of this situation, the Build- ing Department and the Fire Marshal are giving very close scrutiny to every detail Following a long discussion of the technical points in question, it was loved by Councilman Arrowood, seconded by Councilman Van Leeuwen and unanimously carried, that the Council grants full authority to the Orange County Building and Safety Lepartment to approve the design, materials, and construction of the new Los Alamitos Race Course grandstand in all instances of deviation from the Building Codes of this City and the County of O range . NEW RELIEF PAThOLMAN Mayor Van Dyke reported that the relief patrolman had taken a much better position and that, on his authority, the City Manager had placed a new man on duty. This new man had been thoroughly checked -1- April 10, 1958 out by the Police Chief. It was moved by Councilman Arrowood, seconded by Councilman Baroldi and unanimously carried, that the appointment of Meredith B. Brannen as relief patrolman be affirmed ADJOURNMENT There being no further business to come before the Council, it was moved by Councilman Van Leeuwen, seconded by Councilman Arnold and unanimously carried, that the meeting be adjourned until the next regular meeting.
