1958-06-02MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS June 2, 1958 An adjourned regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Cypress was called to order at 6.30 P. M. in the Cypress City Hall by Mayor Van Dyke Councilmen present' A E Arnold, W. •J. Arrowood, T. A. Baroldi, M. G. McCarney, and J Van Dyke Councilmen absent• None City officials present: City Clerk Olsthoorn, City Attorney Howell, and Deputy City Clerk -City Manager Wesenberg The Pledge of Allegiance was led by City Attorney Howell FOREST LAWN ANNEXATION (LAWRENCE ANNEXATION) The City Council entered upon an extensive and thorough dis- cussion of the proposed Lawrence Annexation to the City, re- quested by Forest Lawn and the owners of the property involved. Councilman McCarney asked the Forest Lawn representatives present at the meeting certain questions regarding income to the City Mr Arrowood showed Forest Lawn tax payment reports for the past year for their Glendale operation. Mr. Blalock of Forest Lawn gave a brief run-down of the revenue situation as he saw it for a cemetery operation in this City It was in- dicated that slightly under 42,000.00 revenue might accrue to the City per year Mr. Blalock stated that there would be no water well pollution by cemetery operation in the Lawrence property area Upon motion of Councilman Baroldi, seconded by Councilman Arrowood and carried by the following roll call vote, Resolution No 61, setting the time for public hearing for the Lawrence Annexation, was adopted.
