1958-12-29 (Special Meeting)CONSENT TO HOLD AND WAIVER OF NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS That we, the undersigned, being all the Councilmen, by mutual consent and understanding beforehand, hereby consent to hold a special meeting of the Council of said City at the Cypress City Hall on the 29th day of December, 1958, at the hour of 7.30 P M of said day, and we agree that all of the acts and proceedings of said meeting shall be as valid as if had or taken at a meeting duly and regularly called and noticed. E. Ar7aold, M J Van Dyke of the City of Cypress 9352 Walker Street, at presiding. C McCarney, and Councilmen absent W. J. .Arrowood and T A Baroldi City officials present: Deputy City Clerk -City Manager Wesenberg and City Clerk Olsthoorn POLICE OFFICER RESIGNATION Upon motion of Councilman McCarney, seconded by Councilman Arnold and unanimously carried, the Council authorized the City Manager to pay to Officer John Swearingen, recently re- signed from the Cypress Police Department, an amount equivalent to two weeks salary as severance pay. Upon motion of Council- man Arnold, seconded by Councilman McCarney, and unanimously carried, the Council authorized the transfer of Eighty Dollars (0{080 00) from Account No. 2905, Substitute Wages, to Account No. 3300, Police Department Salaries. REPORT ON ASSESSMENT DISTRICT SITUATION The City Manager reported that the City Engineer stated he would have the boundary description for the proposed special assess- ment district immediately north of the City Hall at the next regular Council meeting. There was considerable discussion re- garding the special assessment district question and the matter of whether a special election should be held or not ADJOURNMENT There being no further business, the Council meeting was duly adjourned until the next regular meeting Time of adjournment. 8 00 o'clock P.M.
