Ordinance No. 46ORDINANCE NO 46 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS REQUIRING THE REGISTRATION OF PERSONS CONVICTED OF CERTAIN CRIMES THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS Section 1 Every person who has been convicted of any felony and for such felony committed to a State or Federal Penitentiary, and who is residing in or is present in the City or who comes into the City whether in transit through said City or otherwise, and who intends to or actually does stay in the City for 48 hours or more or who regularly visits, calls or stops within the City, shall report such fact to the Chief of Police within 48 hours of the first arrival Section 2 Such person shall furnish to the Chief of Police in a written statement signed by such person the true name and each other name or alias by which he is or has been known, a full and complete description of himself, the name of each felony of which he shall have been convicted, together with the name of the place where each such felony was committed, the name under which he was convicted, and the date of the conviction thereof the name and location of each prison, reformatory or other penal institution in which he shall have been confined, together with the location or address of his residence, stopping place or living quarters in the City, and the length of time for which he expects or intends to reside within the City. Section 3 sic the time of furnishing such information, said person shall be photographed and fingerprinted by the Chief of Police, and said photograph and fingerprints shall be made a part of the permanent record herein provided for Ordinance No 46 1. Section 4. In the event that any person specified in this ordinance shall change any such place of residence, stopping place or living quarters to any new or different place within the City, other than any place last shown in such report to the Chief of Police, he shall within 24 hours after making of such change, notify the Chief of i olice in a written and signed statement of such change of address, and shall furnish his new address in such written statement to the Chief of Police. Section 5. Violation of this ordinance is a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) or by imprisonment in the County Jail for a period of not more than six (6) months or by both such fine and imprisonment PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Cypress at a regular meeting held the 8th day of December, 1953 Ordinance No. 46 CITY CLERK'S CERTIFICATION STATh OF CALIFORNIA ) COUNTY OF ORANGE ) ss CITY OF CYPRESS I, Martin Olsthoorn, City Clerk of the City Council of the City of Cypress, California, do hereby certify that, at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the 8th day of December, 1958, the foregoing Ordinance was then considered and passed and adopted as a whole by the following vote AYES Councilmen Arnold, Arrowood, Baroldi, McCarney, and Van Dyke NOES None ABSENT.
