Ordinance No. 30ORDINANCE NO 30 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS PROVIDING FOR THE USE OF CERTAIN STREETS WITHIN THE CITY AS THROUGH TRUCK ROUTES AND PROHIBITING THE USE OF OTHER STREETS BY VEHICLES IN EXCESS OF CERTAIN WEIGHT LIMITS THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS Section 1. It shall be unlawful for any person to operate a motor vehicle designed, used or maintained primarily for the transportation of property, and having an unladen weight of 6,000 pounds or more, upon the following streets or any portion thereof within the city limits of Cypress Bloomfield, Denni, Moody, Walker, Miller, Orange and Cerritos Section 2. For through truck traffic, the following streets are designated for this purpose. Katella and Ball Section 3 The provisions of this ordinance shall not apply to passenger buses under the jurisdiction of the Public Utilities Commission Section 4. Nothing in this ordinance shall be deemed to prohibit the operator of any motor truck traversing any of the foregoing streets designated as through truck routes from leaving such routes for the purpose of loading or unloading his vehicle at a point off of said route, provided that such deviation for the purpose of such loading or unloading shall be made over a route which keeps at a minimum the distance traveled off of the truck route involved Section S. When this ordinance becomes effective, the City Manager shall obtain and erect the necessary signs upon said streets indicating their limitations or their designations as truck routes Section 6. The violation of any of the provisions hereof is hereby declared to be a misdemeanor Any person, firm or corporation upon conviction Ordinance No 30 1 of a violation thereof shall be punished by a fine of not more than $500.00, nor more than three months in the County Jail, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
