Recommendation: That the City Council authorize the attendance of any interested Council Member to the League of California Cities' Mayors & Council Members Legislative Conference to be held on May 24 - 25, 1983, in Sacramento, and be reimbursed for all actual and necessary expenses incurred. Consideration of an Application for Leave to Present a Late Claim Submitted by the Automobile Club of So. Ca. on Behalf of their Insured, Kimeral, Inc. Recommendation: That the City Council deny the Application for Leave to Present a Late Claim and reject the subject claim as presented by the Automobile Club of So. Recommendation: That the Mayor and City Council officially proclaim May 1, 1983, as "Law Day U.S.A." in the City of Cypress as requested. 10. Consideration of Proclaiming May 14, 1983, as "Fire Service Recognition Day". Recommendation: That the Mayor and City Council officially proclaim May 14, 1983, as "Fire Service Recognition Day" in the City of Cypress. 11. Consideration of Proclaiming "Pause for the Pledge" on June 14, Flag Day. Recommendation: That the Mayor and City Council officially proclaim "Pause for the Pledge" on June 14, Flag Day, as requested. 12. Consideration of Claim Filed by Richard G. Anderson, Attorney, On Behalf of Daniel R. Willy. Recommendation: That the City Council officially reject the subject claim and refer it to the City's Insurance Adjuster, Carl Warren & Co., for appropriate disposition. 13. Consideration of SB 197 - Cigarette Fire Safety Standards. Recommendation: That the City Council direct staff to prepare letters for the Mayor's signature to the appropriate officials expressing the City's support of Senate Bill 197. 16. Consideration of Assembly Bill 1599 (Costa) Legislation Threatening to Take Away Cities' Gas Tax Revenue. Recommendation: That the City Council direct staff to prepare letters for the Mayor's signature to the appropriate officials expressing the City's opposition to Assembly Bill 1599. 17. Consideration of Amendment to Resolution No. 2611 Regarding the Cypress Lighting District No. 2 (1983). Recommendation: That the City Council adopt the Resolution by title only, title as follows, amending Section 2 of Resolution No. 2611. A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Cypress Amending Section 2 of Resolution No. 2611 Pertaining to Certain Portions of the Cypress Lighting District of Orange County Located Within the Boundaries of the City of Cypress to be Withdrawn from Said District. 18. Consideration of Resolution Cormmending Seven Year Old Eldrick "Tiger" Woods for His Outstanding Achievements in the Sport of Golfing. Recommendation: That the City Council adopt the Resolution by title only, title as follows, commending Master Eldrick "Tiger" Woods for his outstanding golfing achievements. A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Cypress Commending Seven Year Old Eldrick "Tiger" Woods for His Outstanding Achievements in the Sport of Golfing. 19. Consideration of Capital Outlay Appropriation for the Police Department. Recommendation: That the City Council appropriate $2,881.00 for the purchase of three (3) file cabinets, one (1) CRT stand and two (2) concent rix chairs. 20. Consideration of Confirmation of Mayor and City Manager to Appear Before the Senate Committee on Governmental Organization. Recommendation: That the City Council confirm the attendance of the Mayor and City Manager at the Senate Committee Hearing on Senate Bill 196 as outlined and authorize reimbursement for all actual and neces- sary expenses incurred. 21. Consideration of a Negative Declaration Regarding the Use of 9th Year CDBG Funds for Senior Citizen Housing at the Civic Center Site. Recommendation: That the City Council approve the Negative Declaration as submitted and authorize the Community Development Director to file the Notice of Determination as required. Recreation & Park District Matters: 22. Consideration of Declaring June 1983, as "Recreation and Parks Month" in Cypress. - 3- CITY COUNCIL AGENDA April 25, 1983 CONSENT CALENDAR(Continued): Recommendation: That the Mayor and City Council, acting as the ex-officio governing Board of Directors of the Cypress Recreation and Park District, officially proclaim the month of June 1983, as "Recreation and Parks Month" in Cypress. 23. Consideration of Cypress School Lease Agreement Extension. Recommendation: That the City Council, acting as the ex-officio governing Board of Directors of the Cypress Recreation and Park District, continue the Cypress School lease ageeement which commenced on July 1, 1980 with the Cypress School District, and approve Amendment Number Two as presented by the School District. 24. Consideration of Class Registration Policy~ Recommendation: That the City Council, acting as the ex-officio governing Board of Directors of the Cypress Recreation and Park District, receive and file the report. 25. Consideration of Proposed Adjustment to the Cypress Youth Conservatory. Recommendation: That the City Council, acting as the ex-officio governing Board of Directors of the Cypress Recreation and Park District, approve the proposed private/semi-private lesson fees as outlined in the report.
