A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS
COMMENDING ANDY K RILEY FOR HIS OUTSTANDING SERVICE TO
THE CITY OF CYPRESS BY ALERTING CITY OFFICIALS OF THE
IMPROPER DISPOSAL OF DANGEROUS CHEMICAL
WHEREAS, Mr Andy K Riley has been a resident of the City of Cypress
on and off since 1953 continuously for the last eight years with his wife,
Maycie L Riley, and his brother L B Riley and his now grown five children,
and
WHEREAS Andy K Riley is a retired Orange County Firefighter serving the
Cypress Volunteer Fire Department for ten years and
WHEREAS Andy K Riley in his duties as a firefighter has conscientiously
and faithfully protected the property and lives of the residents of Cypress, and
WHEREAS Andy K Riley on Monday, December 19, 1977, observed the improper
disposal of a toxic chemical into a trash bin behind his residence and helped
to avoid a potential tragedy in this community by alerting the Cypress Police
Department
WHEREAS, the City of Cypress deeply appreciates Andy K Riley's quick
action in this matter
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Cypress hereby commends Andy K Riley for his efforts on behalf of the
residents of Cypress
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Cypress at a
regular meeting held on the 9th day of January 1978
