A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS
COMMENDING MICHAEL SHEEHAN FOR OUTSTANDING SKILL AND
ADMIRABLE COMMUNITY SPIRIT IN VOLUNTEERING TO SERVE AS
AN ACTOR IN TOURING PERFORMANCES OF "THE MAGIC HAT'
WHEREAS "The Magic Hat," an educational play for children of ages
6-12, was chosen for public presentation at the Cypress Community Center
December 15, 16, and 17 1977
WHEREAS the volunteer actors in this play contributed to its
success in a profound way, creating a demand by the community for its
continued presentation into 1978,
WHEREAS, the volunteer actors presented "The Magic Hat" at the Buena
Park Library Cypress Fire Department, Melbourn Elementary School Lee
Elementary School Cawthon Elementary School Fullerton Park and Recreation
Damron Elementary School, and Jefferson Elementary School.
WHEREAS the company of performers has not only participated in a
valuable educational experience for themselves and their more than 2000
young audience members but has also brought distinction and recognition
to the Cypress Arts and Cultural Commission Cypress Recreation and Park
District and the City of Cypress
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Cypress hereby commends Michael Sheehan for an outstanding and dedicated
performance in "The Magic Hat," and for demonstrating the true meaning of
community spirit
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Cypress at a
regular meeting held on the 8th day of May 1978
