RESOLUTION NO 2090
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CYPRESS AMENDING RESOLUTION NO 1635 RULES AND
REGULATIONS CHAPTERS 5 AND 9 CONCERNING HOLIDAYS
AND SICK LEAVE PAYMENT PLAN FOR EMPLOYEES OF THE
CITY OF CYPRESS
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Cypress California that
Chapter 5 Section 5 17 'Holidays ' and Chapter 9 Section 9 07 "Sick Leave Payment
Plan, of the Personnel Rules and Regulations are hereby amended to read as follows.
CHAPTER 5 COMPENSATION AND HOURS
Section 5 17 Holidays (First Paragraph Only)
For pay purposes the following holidays are recognized as municipal holidays
for permanent and probationary City employees and officials; said employees shall
have these days off with pay. New Year s Day, Lincoln s Birthday, Washington's
Birthday Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day Admission Day Veteran's Day
Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve Day, Christmas Day and two (2) floating holidays
(16 hours) per calendar year Said two (2) floating holidays shall be at the dis-
cretion of the employee subject to reasonable requirements of and prior approval
by the department
CHAPTER 9 SICK LEAVE
Section 9 07 Sick Leave Payment Policy
Payment of accumulated sick leave shall be granted by the City Manager on an
annual basis to all permanent full-time and part-time employees who have a minimum
of one hundred twenty (120) hours of accumulated sick leave on record on December
1st and opt to receive payment during the subsequent December on a date determined
by the City Manager at a rate of 50% of current salary for one-half (D) of their
annual unused sick leave Employees wishing to opt for such payment must notify
the Personnel Office of said decision thirty (30) days in advance of the payment date
Payment of accumulated sick leave shall be granted by the City Manager on an annual
basis to all permanent full-time and part-time employees who have a minimum of two
hundred forty (240) hours of accumulated sick leave on record on December 1st during
the subsequent December on a date determined by the City Manager at a rate of 100%
of current salary for one-half (1) of their annual unused sick leave The sick leave
hours for which the employee receives payment shall be deducted from his/her sick
leave record with the remaining one half (I) of the annual accumulated sick leave
being continued as a credit to the employee's sick leave account
Upon d ath retirement eparation or termination of a permanent full-time or
part time employee with a minimum of sixty (60) days or four hundred eighty (480)
hours of sick leave accumulation said employee is entitled to receive fifty percent
(50%) compensation for that accumulated sick leave
This amendment to become effective January 1, 1979
