RESOLUTION NO 2093
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS
DECLARING THAT PROCEEDINGS HAVE BEEN INITIATED BY THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS TO ANNEX TO SUCH
CITY CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESCRIBED THEREIN AND
DESIGNATED AS "ANNEXATION NO 79 1 SETTING FORTH ITS
REASONS FOR SUCH ANNEXATION AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE
TIME AND PLACE THE CITY COUNCIL WILL HEAR WRITTEN
PROTESTS AGAINST SUCH ANNEXATION
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Cypress as follows *err
SECTION 1 That in response to formal request by one of the owners of
property within the area proposed for annexation the City Council of the City
of Cypress, at its meeting of February 13, 1979, initiated preliminary
proceedings for the annexation of certain territory to the City of Cypress
SECTION 2 That said territory is designated as "Annexation to the City
of Cypress No 79-1 and a legal description of said territory is attached as
"Exhibit A"
SECTION 3 That said territory is uninhabited as determined by the Local
Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO) of the County of Orange
SECTION 4 That said territory is proposed for annexation to the City of
Cypress since such annexation would eliminate part of an unincorporated County
island substantially surrounded by the City of Cypress and within said City's
adopted sphere of influence
SECTION 5 That a proposal for annexation of said territory to the City
of Cypress was approved by LAFCO at its regular meeting of April 11, 1979,
subject to the following terms and conditions
"A Prior to completion of the annexation, the City of Cypress
shall initiate proceedings to detatch the territory from any district
where there would result either a duplication of services/taxation
or an unnecessary overlap of jurisdictions
"B Direct the City Council of the City of Cypress to initiate
annexation proceedings in compliance with the commission's
resolution
SECTION 6 That May 29, 1979, at the hour of 7 00 p m , in the City Council
Chambers of the City Hall of the City of Cypress, County of Orange, State of
California located at 5275 Orange Avenue Cypress California is hereby
fixed as the time and place when and where any owners of real property within
such territory proposed to be annexed, having any objections to any such
proposed annexation may appear before the City Council of the City of Cypress
and show cause why such uninhabited territory should not be so annexed to the
City of Cypress Such protest must be in writing and may be filed at any time
prior to final adjournment of such hearing on protests The protest shall state
the name of the owner of the property affected and the street address or other
description of property sufficient to identify it on the last equalized
assessment roll
SECTION 7 That since there is no newspaper of general circulation pub
fished within the City of Cypress the City Clerk of the City of Cypress hereby
is authorized and directed to post a copy of this Resolution not less than
twenty (20) days before the hearing in at least three conspicuous places
within such territory proposed to be annexed The City Clerk of the City of
Cypress further is authorized and directed to cause said notice to be published
in a newspaper of general circulation published outside the City of Cypress
but within the County of Orange in accordance with Section 35311 of the
Government Code of the State of California The City Clerk of the City of
Cypress further is authorized and directed to cause written notice of such
proposed annexation to be mailed at least twenty (20) days prior to the date
set for such hearing to each person to whom land within such territory pro
posed to be annexed is assessed on the last equalized assessment roll available

on the date the proceedings were initiated, at the address shown on said
assessment roll, or as known to the said City Clerk, and to any person
who has filed his name and address and the designation of such lands in
which he has any interest either legal or equitable, with said City Clerk
The City Clerk of the City of Cypress further is authorized and directed
to cause written notice to be given to such other persons as legally may
be entitled thereto in the manner provided by law

regular meeting held on the 23rd day of April 1979

To the City of Cypress
Being a portion of Sections 8 9 16 and 17 Township 4 south Range 11 west
San Bernardino Base and Meridian as shown on a map recorded in Book 51
page 11 of Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange County, State of California,
more particularly described as follows.
Beginning at the intersection of the east right of way line of Moody Street
and the southerly boundary line of Tract No 3618 as shown on a map recorded
in Book 131 pages 1 thru 3 of Miscellaneous Maps, records of said Orange
County and said point of intersection also being a point in the boundary
lint of the City of Cypress as established by Annexation No 67-3, Ordinance
No 366 thence along said Annexation No 67-3 the following courses.
