RESOLUTION NO 2264
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CYPRESS REQUESTING THE ORANGE
COUNTY TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION TO SELECT
THE SAN GABRIEL/COYOTE CREEK BICYCLE TRAIL
AS A TOP PRIORITY PROJECT FOR FUNDING WITH
SB 821 FUNDS IN THE 1980/81 FISCAL YEAR
WHEREAS, the City of Cypress desires to improve the San Gabriel/
Coyote Creek Bicycle Trail from Katella Avenue to Lincoln Avenue, and
WHEREAS, the San Gabriel/Coyote Creek Bicycle Trail is an important
bikeway in the Orange County Master Plan of Trails. and
WHEREAS, the San Gabriel/Coyote Creek Bicycle Trail is included in
the Orange County Master Plan of County -wide Bikeways. and
WHEREAS, the San Gabriel/Coyote Creek Bicycle Trail is included in
the Los Angeles County Regional Bicycle Route, and
WHEREAS, the San Gabriel/Coyote Creek Bicycle Trail will provide an
offstreet trail for bicyclists for both recreational and commuted purposes;
and
WHEREAS, the San Gabriel/Coyote Creek Bicycle Trail will serve all the
cities in the western part of Orange County in addition to the citizens of
Cypress;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Cypress hereby requests
the Orange County Transportation Commission to select the San Gabriel/Coyote
Creek Bicycle Trail from Katella Avenune to Lincoln Avenue in the amount of
$60,000 as a top priority project for funding with SB 821 funds for the
1980/81 fiscal year.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Cypress at a
regular meeting held on the 14th day of July 1980
