Resolution No. 2374RESOLUTION NO 2374 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS COMMENDING STEVE LOVE FOR HIS HEROIC ACTIONS WHEREAS, on February 21, 1981, 13 year old Julia Parker, a Cypress resident accidentally crashed into a glass door at her home and was severely cut, which required 100 stitches, and WHEREAS, at this precise time, 19 year old Steve Love also a Cypress resident was driving by the Parker residence when he heard cries and saw Julia, in a state of shock running around the front lawn with blood pouring from her arm, and WHEREAS Steve immediately ran into the house for a towel to apply pressure to the wound, thereby stopping the bleeding and at the same time, was able to calm the hysterical girl until the Fire Department and paramedics arrived; and WHEREAS, Steve's personal knowledge of first aid and quick action were instrumental in saving Julia's life, and WHEREAS, the Cypress City Council is extremely proud to have this oppor- tunity to recognize this young man who did not hesitate to get "involved" and help someone in need NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Cypress does hereby commend STEVE LOVE for his heroic actions and extends sincere Best Wishes for all future endeavors PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Cypress at a regular meeting held on the 13th day of April 1981 ATTEST.
