Resolution No. 2427‘,1 04.3.1 RESOLUTION NO 2427 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS COMMENDING THE TRI -CITIES "CYPRESS GAMBLERS' SOFTBALL TEAM FOR PLACING 2ND IN THE 1981 NATIONAL TOURNAMENT WHEREAS, the Tri -Cities "Cypress Gamblers" Softball Team, members of the Amateur Softball Association (ASA) is a group of girls ranging in ages from 13 - 15 and composed of many Cypress residents. and WHEREAS, concluding a most successful season, the Cypress Gamblers were recently crowned the Southern California Regional Champions, and WHEREAS, representing Southern California, the Cypress Gamblers journeyed to Las Cruces, New Mexico to participate in the National Tournament and WHEREAS, after advancing to the semi-finals, the Cypress Gamblers played 16 long innings and were defeated by the score of 2 - 1 to gain the 2nd place honors. and WHEREAS, the Cypress City Council is extremely proud to have this occasion to acknowledge the outstanding athletic achievements and sports- manship displayed by the Cypress Gamblers which have brought distinction to the City of Cypress NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Cypress hereby commends the TRI -CITIES "CYPRESS GAMBLERS" SOFTBALL TEAM for placing 2nd in the 1981 Girls (15 and under) National Tournament in Las Cruces, New Mexico and extends Best Wishes for the future PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Cypress at a regular meeting held on the 24th day of August 1981 ATTEST.
