Resolution No. 24453s4 RESOLUTION NO 2445 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS AMENDING RESOLUTION NO 1635 RULES AND REGULATIONS, CHAPTERS 4, 8, 9 and 15 CONCERNING APPLICATIONS APPLI- CANTS AND EMPLOYMENT, VACATION LEAVE, SICK LEAVE, AND REPORTS, RECORDS AND NOTICES FOR EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS AND CYPRESS RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT WHEREAS, the City of Cypress/Cypress Recreation and Park District desires to provide equitable benefits to all permanent employees. and, WHEREAS the City of Cypress/Cypress Recreation and Park District currently provides two (2) benefit levels for permanent employees. full benefits for full- time permanent employees, and one-half benefits for part-time permanent employees, and WHEREAS, the City needs to create an additional level of four-fifths bene- fits for employees who work thirty-two (32) hours, but less than forty (40) hours per week• and WHEREAS, the City of Cypress/Cypress Recreation and Park District, in order to provide equitable benefits adopts the following formula full benefits for employees regularly scheduled to work forty (40) or more hours per week, four- fifths benefits for employees regularly scheduled to work thirty-two (32), but less than forty (40) hours per week, and one-half benefits for employees regularly scheduled to work twenty (20) hours, but less than thirty-two (32) hours per week. and, WHEREAS a correction is required in Chapter 15 Section 15 04 last sentence in the paragraph BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Cypress California that Chapter 4 Section 4 11 "Types of Appointment," Chapter 8 Section 8 03 'Vacation Accrual," Chapter 9 Section 9 02 "Sick Leave Eligibility," and Chapter 15 Section 15 04 " Release of Personallnformation"ofthe Personnel Rules and Regula- tions are hereby amended to read as follows CHAPTER 4 APPLICATIONS, APPLICANTS AND EMPLOYMENT Section 4 11 Types of Appointments (Add a final paragraph) Employees designated as permanent part-time shall be placed in one of two categories: part-time one-half time employees and part-time four-fifths time employees Part-time one-half time are those employees regularly scheduled to work twenty (20) hours, but less than thirty-two (32) hours per week Part-time four-fifths time are those employees regularly scheduled to work thirty-two (32) but less than forty (40) hours per week CHAPTER 8 VACATION LEAVE Section 8 03 Vacation Accrual (Change the last paragraph to read.) Each part-time one-half time permanent and probationary employee shall accrue vacation leave at the rate of one-half of the accrual of a full-time employee using the above formula Each part-time four-fifths time permanent and probationary employee shall accrue vacation leave at the rate of four-fifths of the accrual of a full-time employee using the above formula CHAPTER 9 SICK LEAVE Section 9 02 Eligibility (Amend Section to read ) Permanent and probationary employees shall be eligible to accrue sick leave Permanent part-time one-half time employees shall be eligible to accrue sick leave at the rate of one-half the benefit of a full-time employee Permanent part-time four-fifths time employees shall be eligible to accrue sick leave at the rate of four-fifths the benefit of a full-time employee Temporary employees shall not earn sick leave bar �5I CHAPTER 15 REPORTS, RECORDS AND NOTICES Section 15 04 Release of Personal Information (Amend Section to read ) Neither the Personnel Office nor anyone in the City service shall be allowed to make known the address or phone number as shown in the Personnel Office records, of any employee, officer or appointed official without the prior approval of that employee, officer or appointed official The Personnel Office shall have the authority to verify or confirm addresses and phone numbers unless otherwise notified in writing by the employee, officer or appointed official These amendments to become effective October 13, 1981 PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Cypress at its regular meeting held on the 13th day of October 1981 ATTEST.
